Beijing News: What special values and significance do you think are the beijing Winter Olympic torch?

Hou Kun: The "flying" torch of the Beijing Winter Olympics is an important embodiment of our practice of the concept of "green Olympic Games" and the crystallization of high technology.

The design of this torch inherits the design concept and some cultural elements of the "Xiangyun Torch" of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. From the shape and name of the "flying" torch, we can see that our country has undergone tremendous changes since the 18th National Congress. We hope that through this Winter Olympics, we will show the world an open and inclusive image of China, which can be passed on through the torch relay.

The Torch Relay, which took place before the Olympics began, signaled to the world that the Olympic Games were coming, and at the same time conveyed the idea of peace. From these two aspects, the Winter Olympic torch not only carries the belief of our country to tell the Chinese story well, but also conveys to the world the signal that "the Winter Olympic Games are coming to China" and "the Winter Olympics are about to open".

Speaking of the significance of collection, I think that because the torchbearers of the Winter Olympics are relatively small, and the number of torches is also very small, it is very precious in itself, and from this point of view, the value of its collection is also very large.

Beijing News: Why did you choose to donate the torch to the Xiangshan Revolution Memorial Hall? For what considerations?

Hou Kun: I myself have participated in the Olympic torch relay many times and feel very lucky. The Olympic Movement, which I have been engaged in over the years, has changed my family and my own life.

The reason why the Olympic torch was donated to the Xiangshan Revolution Memorial Hall this time is to hope that more people, especially young people, when they come to visit the Xiangshan Revolution Memorial Hall, see this "flying" torch, and know that our country has achieved today through step-by-step efforts, so that everyone can cherish the happy life of the present.

This year is also the 16th year of my joining the party, and I also hope to donate the torch to the Xiangshan Revolution Memorial Hall as a souvenir.

Beijing News: Can you tell me the story of your association with the Beijing Winter Olympics?

Hou Kun: I am an Olympic culture promoter, I became a volunteer for the first time in 2007, and I quit my job in 2010 to specialize in the promotion of Olympic culture, which was very interesting to me.

From thinking that the Olympic Games may be a competition to decide the world championship, to later understanding the Olympic culture and spirit, knowing that the Olympic Movement is composed of three parts: competition, culture and education. After the 2008 Beijing Olympics, I actually had a deep understanding of the Olympic Games by then.

Later, I embarked on the road of Olympic culture promotion, in fact, I was lucky to catch up with Beijing to bid for the Winter Olympics, it seems that it was from 2015, in fact, I began to participate in promoting our Olympic bidding concept around the world from 2014, and I was also fortunate to participate in the bidding process, which made me feel that I was closely linked to the Beijing Winter Olympics.

In the past 7 years, from the success of Beijing's bid to host the Winter Olympics to the present, I have also witnessed the step-by-step preparation process of the Beijing Winter Olympics, which has become an important part of my life or life.

Beijing News: You mentioned that you have served as the Olympic torchbearer many times before, and this time as the torchbearer of the Beijing Winter Olympics, what is your special feeling?

Hou Kun: First of all, this time I realized my dream of passing the Olympic torch at my doorstep, which is the most special point.

Secondly, the torch relay of the Beijing Winter Olympics is actually an important summary of my work and dreams in the past 7 years. More importantly, I showed the world that I am an Olympic culture promoter and shoulder the heavy responsibility of promoting Olympic culture.

More importantly, to be one of these 1200 torchbearers is a very honorable thing for me to do.
