Liu Xishun, a native of Tangshan, has loved art since childhood. In 1963, he was admitted to Tangshan Ceramic Industrial School majoring in fine arts. He systematically studied courses such as drawing, Chinese painting, calligraphy, and patterns, and was later selected to be transferred to the Art Research Office of Tangshan Ceramic Research Institute, where he inherited ceramic art masters such as Yang Yinzhai and carried out many years of ceramic art decorative design practice. In addition to the "March Vine Flower", the excellent works he designed and produced also include the glazed blue and white vase "Donkey Figure", the glazed blue and white tableware, the glazed "Rich Peony" large plum bottle, the underglaze color bottle "Hollyhock Blossom" and so on.

Liu Xishun made a bold innovation in the traditional blue and white porcelain painting method, and pioneered the new process of "splashing color blue and white porcelain". The successful development of this new process not only sublimated the ancient blue and white porcelain, but also created a precedent for modern blue and white porcelain decoration with a new look. Engaged in ceramic art for 50 years, Liu Xishun has designed and produced a large number of national porcelain, national ceremonial porcelain and exhibition porcelain. He has twice participated in the exhibition of Tangshan ceramics in Beijing, exhibiting more than 100 works, which has greatly improved the influence of Tangshan ceramics, and his design works have won many awards in domestic competitions.
