Gu Ailing: I am very much looking forward to my performance at the Winter Olympics

At the Beijing Winter Olympics, freestyle skier Gu Ailing will compete in three sub-events: U-shaped track skills, slope obstacle course skills and big jumping. Participating in part-time competitions is a pressure and motivation for young people who are full of vigor and confidence: "I am very much looking forward to my performance at the Winter Olympics." ”

Since shining at the Winter Youth Olympics in early 2020, Gu Ailing has constantly unlocked new moves and slid to a higher stage. In January 2021, she participated in the World Extreme Games for the first time, winning gold medals in both U-shaped track skills and slope obstacle courses, and bronze in the big jump event. Two months later, at the Freestyle Ski World Championships, Gu Ailing played with injuries and "copied" the record of two golds and one bronze at the World Extreme Games.

U-shaped venue skills are Gu Ailing's most powerful projects. This season, she won all the races of the World Cup U-Shaped Venue and won the crystal ball award for the first season championship of her career. In Gu Ailing's view, the big jump is her weakest sport, but in early December 2021, she became the first female athlete in the world to complete the 1440-degree action of the two-week flip body in the competition, and won her first big jump World Cup champion. It is worth mentioning that to learn this set of difficult moves, Gu Ailing only took 3 weeks.

Flipping and moving on the field, light and ethereal, life is straight forward, frank and lively, many people call Gu Ailing a "genius girl". But in her opinion, she "only has 0.1% talent", which is more of a love for skiing. Freestyle skiing is an extreme sport that combines difficulty and danger, but she is not afraid to try, and in order to "make every move very clean and clean", she even trains from 9 am to 9 pm.

"I love skiing and it is a great honor for me to represent the Chinese team. I hope to use my experience to attract more young people to participate in skiing. Gu Ailing said. On February 7, she will make her Winter Olympic debut on the Shougang Ski Jump, which will be the final of the event on the 8th, and will then move to Zhangjiakou To participate in the women's slope obstacle course and U-shaped track skills competition.
