Manchester United footballer Mason Greenwood was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and assault, and EA Sports has removed it from FIFA 22.
Greenwood was arrested on suspicion of rape and assault, and on Feb. 1, the striker was removed from a database on FIFA 22's PlayStation, Xbox and PC. Greenwood is no longer a member of The Manchester United squad.
In a statement to Manchester United fan channel The United Stand, EA Sports said: "Mason Greenwood has been removed from the active squad of FIFA 22 and has also been banned from FIFA Ultimate and Ultimate Draft. ”
Greenwood is currently suspended by Manchester United and awaits further notice. The club released a statement saying it was "aware of the images and allegations circulating on social media" but would not comment "until the facts are confirmed." They also added: "United will not tolerate any form of violence. ”
Greenwood was arrested on Jan. 30 after allegations against him appeared on social media. To date, he has not publicly responded to the allegations. Local police were also allowed to question Greenwood on the allegations.
