Official: Michniewic is the new manager of the Polish national team and will lead the team to the World Preliminary Round play-offs

On the evening of February 1, Beijing time, the Polish Football Association officially announced that the 52-year-old Zesław Michniewic became the new head coach of the Polish national team.

Former Polish manager Paulo Sousa just signed flamenco last month, and many famous managers including Ranieri, Shevchenko, Cannavaro, Donadoni and many others have spread rumors with the Polish team. Now, after careful consideration, the Polish Football Association finally chose Mizniewic.

Mičievic, 52, has previously coached polish youth teams as well as some Polish domestic teams and has established good relationships with some young players. He signed a contract with the Polish Football Federation until the end of 2022, with the option of a one-year renewal. The Polish Football Association said Mizniewic was tactically accomplished and adept at mobilizing the team.

The most important task for the Polish national team at the moment is the upcoming World Preliminary Round European Zone play-off. The Polish team is in the same group as Russia, Sweden and the Czech Republic. On March 25, they will play a single-game knockout match against Russia, with the winner battling the winner between Sweden and the Czech Republic for a World Cup spot.
