Lao Chen, a villager in Longhu Village who was sitting next to him, interjected: "Many people from Hunan have come to read the newspaper."
Managing this small cultural station is an old man over seventy years old, named Peng Liancai, who lives in Longhu Street, Longhu Township. Don't look at Peng Lian as an unpaid administrator of a non-editorial cultural station, but he is very conscientious, in addition to managing these tens of thousands of books, he often writes poetry and plays the flute. As long as there are many people who come to the cultural station to read books, as soon as he is happy, he will find a partner, pull up the erhu, sing a song, and often win the applause of the onlookers.
Seeing that Peng Liancai was so popular, I interviewed him. Peng Liancai was 71 years old at the time, of the Yao ethnic group, who loved calligraphy, was good at cutting words and composing poetry, and those who knew him well called him a "multi-expert" on the border of Xianggui.
Peng Liancai told this writer that he has had a wide range of hobbies since he was young. When he was a contemporary teacher, he became fascinated with calligraphy and liked to practice brush writing. He practiced brush writing from the past, relying on self-taught talent, especially hand-written art characters and Song script. At the age of 25, his brush writing was already quite famous in Longhu Township. During the New Year and the red and white celebrations, the masses often asked him to write about the Spring Festival or pairs; the township published propaganda columns and often asked him to help write.
In order to enrich his old age, from 1999, Peng Lian began to teach himself to cut art words. In the beginning, he used food packaging boxes as materials and practiced cutting words as soon as he had time. After three years of painstaking research, his art of word-cutting has become more and more exquisite, as if it were a natural one. For more than a decade, he has cut more than 2,000 large and small art words. He used the cut words to paste on the paper, like couplets, and the font styles are different, the content is positive, and it is very artistic and ornamental. Nowadays, the words he cut out basically fill his own halls and reading rooms of the township culture station, and some of them have become other people's collections.
Speaking of how to fall in love with writing poetry, it was the first half of 2005, when 60-year-old Peng Liancai went to live in Nanning's daughter's home. The beauty of the green city attracted his attention, seeing the beautiful Nanning changing with each passing day, he sighed infinitely, and for the first time in his life, he wrote a poem: "The lights shine brilliantly on the city, and the night ushers in the sky full of stars." The Jade Emperor looked down at the earth, and the human scenery showed the palace court. After the poem was finished, he neatly wrote the manuscript paper and asked his son to vote for the "Guangxi Workers' Daily", and soon his poem was published in the newspaper, and he also received sample newspapers and awards. After that, in more than 5 years, Peng Liancai created more than 400 poems (paintings), and his poems were published in newspapers and periodicals such as Guangxi Daily and Guangxi Workers Daily.
In June 2008, the Longhu Township government hired him as an external administrator of the township science and technology culture station. In the cultural station, he sorted the thousands of books and newspapers that were originally messy and disorderly, and sorted them in an orderly manner. Let the original cultural station that lacked people's attention attract many people to come to read books and newspapers, and every time there was a polder day in Longhu Township, there were farmers from other provinces in The Township (Town) of Rough Rock River and Taochuan in Jiangyong County, Hunan Province, who came here to read books and newspapers, and the cultural station became one of the most lively places at the junction of Xianggui and Guizhou.
At that time, while Peng Liancai managed the cultural station well, he would cut, write, write, write poetry, and play the flute as soon as he had time. Peng Liancai said: "When I reach this age, I want to live a happy and meaningful life. Now that my children have started a family, I don't have to worry about it, I just want to find something to do, to make my life more fulfilling, and to serve the masses with my strengths, which is the old age I hope to live. ”
Later, we learned that Peng Liancai had been dead for several years, and this information from the previous interview is now published as a souvenir, thanking Peng Liancai for his dedication to the township's cultural cause.
