At present, the Dongfeng high-end pure electric off-road vehicle project has been officially launched, the first model code "M18", based on the new MOV electric off-road vehicle platform, is scheduled to be officially put into production in July next year. The online car market obtained M18 parameter information, and the new car positioned a large 6-seat SUV with a length of 5200mm, which is larger than the popular off-road SUV tank 500 (5070mm). The M18 is equipped with an L2.5 driver assistance system, which is powered by an 800kW motor, which accelerates within 5 seconds of zero hundred, has a cruising range of 500km, and takes only 27 minutes to fast charge. The Dongfeng off-road vehicle project will put into production three electric off-road models, all of which are load-bearing body structures. The project is divided into two phases, the first phase of production of M18-1, M18-2 models, with a total annual production capacity of 20,000 units, the annual production capacity of the two models is 5,000 units, 15,000 units, respectively; the second phase is scheduled to be put into operation in 2026, which will further increase the production capacity of M18-1 and M18-2 and add 12,000 M18-3 models. After the completion of the project, the total annual production capacity of the three models will reach 50,000 units, and the monthly sales volume is expected to be about 4,160 units.
It is worth noting that the M18 maintenance quality is 3100kg, and the Dongfeng fuel version of the Warrior is 3480kg, and the two are relatively close. In addition, the bidding announcement shows that the M18 has always appeared under the name of "Dongfeng Magus high-end off-road SUV", so the M18 can also be regarded as a "pure electric version of the Maverick". In terms of price, the reference fuel version of the Warrior is priced at 880,000 yuan, and the M18 is expected to be priced at about 800,000 yuan, and it will compete with models such as Hummer EV after listing.

In recent years, independent brands such as Tanks, BYD and Lynk & Co have begun to lay out high-end off-road SUVs. Tank high-end off-road SUV Tank 500 will be launched in March; BYD high-end electric off-road SUV will be unveiled within the year, selling 500,000-900,000 yuan; Lynk & Co plans to launch a high-end off-road SUV within 2 years. M18 will serve as the beginning of Dongfeng brand impact on the high-end off-road SUV market, while raising the brand positioning, it will also bring new increments to sales.
