From West Lake to Wufu Mountain

Gao Renbin

Fushun West Lake, in a corner of southern Sichuan is quite famous, talking about the West Lake, the locals began with the sentence: "The world's West Lake thirty-six, Fushun West Lake A Sichuan." Located in the county seat, although this square pond is only more than 60 acres, it has become the best scenery in the minds of Fushun people. However, the West Lake does have some history, according to the "Fushun County Chronicle" recorded, as early as the Song Dynasty there was this water, it is not only a natural formation of the pattern, but also after countless generations of continuous transformation of the work, around the West Lake, not only Xue Weng Xueyi's reading Yi Tong, Mi Fu handwritten "First Mountain" stele, the former residence of the Republic of China's elder Xie Zhi, but also the Ming Dynasty talent Yan Duo, Xiong's "Yan Xiong Ancestral Hall", The Yuan Yang Sheng'an once wrote a couplet for it, lian said: "Talent out of the same hometown, successively two people, the article through the ages; the ancestral temple is super victorious, the water and the sky are colorful, Wind and moon double clear. ”

The former Fushun Normal School, which is close to the east bank of the West Lake, can be regarded as the highest school in this county, and students like to call the school "Fushida". Somewhat like today, a county town is always eager to have a university of its own. I don't know when it was, some ingenious people simply introduced the "Western Normal University", and uninformed people also mistakenly thought that it was Chongqing's Southwest Normal University, but in fact, it was because Fushun Normal School was close to the West Lake. In 1990, I was admitted to this ordinary teacher's school, and strictly speaking, my literary enlightenment began here.

The predecessor of Fushun Normal School is Fushun Simple Normal School, which can be traced back to the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty, and once ran a school in the famous Jiangyang Academy. When we entered the school, the school had already moved to a new location, and it already had a certain size, and there were five classes per grade. Not only that, the school also attaches great importance to literature and art, and has established various clubs such as calligraphy, art, dance, and literature. As early as 1984, the school established the "Spring Bud" literary club. As soon as we entered the school, the seniors of the literary club used the evening self-study to give speeches in each class to encourage new students to join them. Everyone listened to the clouds and fog, what to join ah. Of course, the most gratifying thing is that we first witnessed the thin "Spring Buds" of mimeograph, when there was no printer, and the mimeographed fonts were handwritten by the seniors on the wax paper lined with steel plates and printed with mimeographs. After turning a few pages, I smelled a unique fragrance of ink, and if I didn't pay attention, my hands were stained with ink. Even so, we still love the thin booklet. One day, about two months later, the literary club suddenly published a list of new members on the school's billboard, and my name was on the list. The classmates immediately threw a strange look at me, and at that moment, I really felt that I was a piece of literary material. In fact, the so-called poems I submitted to the literary society were completely a pile of disease-free groaning text garbage. Many years later, when I truly understood the meaning of literature, I was full of respect for the selfless encouragement and magnanimity of the seniors.

The Spring Bud Literary Society of the Teacher's School will publish "Spring Bud" every month, with 18 page numbers, 9 pieces of wax paper folded and bound, and the title and the end of the article are decorated with drawings. Although there are not many poems that can be selected in each issue, they embody everyone's hard work, the transcription of the text is the support of the calligraphy group, and the production of drawings is the participation of the art team. Whenever the publication is published, it will be posted on the school billboard page by page, becoming the first choice for students to read after school meals. The frequency with which articles are published in Spring Bud is a symbol of literary popularity.

In the 1990s, literature was not only a fashion on campus, but also in counties like Fushun. Because I joined the school's Spring Shoot Literary Club, I was able to learn about some of the deeds of the county's literary circle. At that time, the county already had its own literary group, the Fushun County Literary Writers Association, and the chairman was Mr. Zhou Kaiyue, who was the principal of the county health school, and more importantly, he lived in the dormitory of the health school by the West Lake, which was only a few hundred meters away from the teacher. Every member of our Chunya Literature Society knows that Mr. Kaiyue loves the lotus flowers in the West Lake, and he not only published a collection of essays called "Rain Lotus Collection", but also named his study "Pillow Lotus Building", and many years later he also published a collection of poems, the title of which is "Pillow Lotus House Poetry". Mr. Kaiyue is not only a model in literature, writing poetry, prose, and novels, but also a person with a warm heart, and the literary youth in the county like to approach him, and have been guided and encouraged by him. Once I went to visit Mr. Kaiyue, he actually gave me an inkblot, the book "Fenghua Zhengmao", and then I framed it and hung it in the study, always remembering Mr. Kaiyue's kind posture, unfortunately, a few years ago, I moved and can no longer be found. At that time, Fushun was already active with a number of budding literary youths, such as Ou Chunding of Dengguan Cement Factory, Yin Zijun of Transformer Factory, Liu Jianbin of Zhao Hua Supply and Marketing Cooperative, Wang Wenbing of Teachers' Primary School, Nie Zuoping, who had just gone to Zigong University, Li Hua of the county government office, and Wang Xiaoqian of the Youth League County Committee. It is such a loose literary circle in a small county, but it contains a powerful force. Because many years later, most of them have achieved their due achievements and status in literature.

In 1992, we had two literary events.

One was the "Symposium on the Creation of Prose poems by Wang Wenbing and Liu Shangbin". Wang Wenbing and Liu Shangbin, both seniors who graduated from Fushun Normal School and were also early members of the Chunya Literary Society, engaged in prose and poetry writing while becoming teachers after graduation, and published many works in the past few years, which is our model. President Liao Changyong, who has always attached great importance to literature, specially arranged this symposium, hoping to inspire us. I remember that the symposium was held in the school auditorium, and the simple desks were arranged in a large circle, and when the leaders and guests settled, we sat up carefully, for fear of making a little noise. It was also then that I learned that there is a kind of prose poetry that is somewhere between poetry and prose. Secondly, I also self-righteously got an asymmetrical message, that if the poems were well written, they could stay in the city, because Wang Wenbing had graduated and stayed in the Teachers' Primary School to teach. Of course, the biggest gain of that symposium was to meet the poet Wang Wenbing, and later we became friends for decades.

Another grand event was the "Li Ziguo Poetry Lecture". In that year, the poet Li Ziguo published his first collection of poems, "The Third Eye", which caused a certain sensation in the county seat, and although he had been transferred from Fushun to work in the Zigong City Literary Association, it did not affect the literary youth in his hometown to tell each other. At that time, publishing a book was an earth-shattering thing. The specific details of the poetry lecture are not clearly remembered, but Mr. Li Ziguo spoke with great passion, especially when he read a certain poem, and at that time, I felt that in the world of poetry, he could enter the realm of self-forgetfulness. For this lecture, I had a collection of poems signed by the poet himself, which was probably the only one I had read several times. Later, I wrote a short poem called "Eyes and Poetic Souls", which was published in Shunan Literature. I know that it was a deliberate offer from my brother. I would like to say that the publication of a childish work may also arouse a young person's love for literature.

From the gate of Fushun Normal School, go to Beimen Lane for less than 200 meters to reach the entrance of Wufu Mountain. There is no more landscape on Wufu Mountain, at the foot of the mountain is the West Lake, up the steps up, is the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery and liu Guangdi Cemetery, one of the six gentlemen of Wushu, and further up is the Youth Palace standing on the top of the hill. On weekends, the reason why teachers love to go to Wufu Mountain is that most of them have asked three or five classmates to drink tea. There is a wide cloister next to the Revolutionary Martyrs Exhibition Hall, where several small tables are placed, the environment is very quiet, you can drink tea and chat, tea is not expensive, fifty cents a bowl, just suitable for the consumption level of teacher training students. This way of spending the weekend is jokingly called "poor joy", which means that we are not afraid of being poor, are we still afraid of joy? The reason why we a group of literary young people love to go to Wufu Mountain, in addition to drinking tea cheaply, is also because on Wufu Mountain, there is the editorial department of "Fushun Literature and Art" sponsored by the County Cultural Center, which was founded in 1973 and has a considerable influence in Fushun, which is regarded as the "People's Literature" in the hearts of Fushun literature lovers. At that time, Teacher Li Jialiang, who was in charge of editorial work, was a person who was extremely responsible for literature, and once a literary youth came to visit, he Ma Shan would put down the living road in his hand, greet him to sit down, and pour tea at the same time. His small courtyard seems to have always been the reception room of the newsroom. Later, Zhao Zhengping, a new literary counseling cadre in the Cultural Center, was also a person who loved literature, and the editorial department was even more lively. It is such a small four-open literary and art newspaper, along the way, I don't know how many literary youth admire and admire. There was a time when I even expected that after graduating from normal school, if I could become a literary editor at a cultural center, what a proud thing it would be! Many years later, I told this dream to the retired teacher Zhao Zhengping, who sighed emotionally, thinking about the scene of that year, literature is really enviable.

The unhurried teacher training time is always impossible to avoid the West Lake and Wufu Mountain. The Orchid Garden by the West Lake is a tavern that teachers like to patronize, and the tea garden on Wufu Mountain is a place where teacher training students once talked about their lives. For every Fushun Normal student, West Lake and Wufu Mountain are a kind of nostalgia for memory. In 1993, when I graduated from normal school, I edited a "ninety-zero graduation collection" in the name of Chunya Literary Society, called "Years of Hurry", which is a confession of youth. That year, I did not stay in the county school to teach because I wrote poetry, let alone have the opportunity to work as an editor of "Fushun Literature and Art", but was assigned to Xinhua Primary School in Fushan Town, in the west of Fushun, which happened to be my hometown. I became a typical literary youth. I wrote a long poem, "1993: A Dialogue with Ideal Things", which was later included in my poetry collection "The Covenant of Chance", which is an account of my teacher-training years and the West Lake to the Wufu Mountain. Because Fushun's West Lake and Wufu Mountain are the starting points of my literature.
