In high school, he found himself enjoying singing, and after a failure in a school singing competition, his grandmother became a guide on his musical path. His exposure to Chinese opera since he was a child has also given him a unique understanding of singing. "First of all, breath control, we need to practice breath to achieve drag, trembling, strong, weak tone; then there is transposition, opera transposition is actually a weak portamento; and finally there is timbre, opera sound is different in the position, the resonance of the sound will be different, and the timbre will change accordingly." In the interview, Yu Kong recounted the influence of Han opera on his musical style and vocal qualities. The basic skills of opera make Yukong's control over the strength and weakness of the sound very delicate, and at the same time, the change of timbre is grasped.
Yu Kong's body showed the spark of the collision of traditional opera and popular music, and also aroused the enthusiasm of mentors Na Ying and Li Keqin to "grab people".
