The Passion of the Christ
I have to admit that "The Passion of the Christ" is a movie that I have seen many movies that I dare not watch a second time. Not because of how afraid, but because of watching it again, the heart is too painful, too hard, so that people's hearts can not be calm for a long time!
The Passion of the Christ tells the story of what happened in the last 12 hours before the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. The film begins with an olive grove (the land of the Dead), where Jesus begins to pray after the Last Supper. Jesus endured the temptation of Satan, who was betrayed by Judas calvary and imprisoned in the city of Jerusalem. Pharisees leaders accused him of blasphemy, and Jesus was sentenced to death.
Jesus was brought before Pilate, the roman governor, who listened to the Pharisees' accusations against Jesus and realized it was a political conflict. He blamed the trouble on King Herod. Herod sent Jesus back to Bilado, who had to let the crowd choose between Jesus and the criminal Barrabas. The crowd sent out the voice of freeing Barabas and severely punishing Jesus.
Jesus was taken to be flogged by the Roman soldiers, and the bloodied man was again brought before Pilate. Pilate shoved him in front of the crowd and said, "Isn't that enough?" "However, this is clearly not enough. The dilemma of Pilate finally gave the order to obey the will of the people.
Jesus was brought to the cross, and the soldiers commanded him to carry the cross through the streets of Jerusalem to the cemetery. Here He was crucified and endured one last temptation: fear of being abandoned by God.
Looking at his holy mother, Mary, he finally overcame his fear and said a prophecy to her mother that only she could fully understand: "It's all done." Then he was put to death: "Put the soul into your hands." "At the moment of his death, the natural world also changed dramatically.
The end of the film is very concise and there is not a single nonsense. Christ took off the shroud that was wrapped around the old body, and was as clean as ever. There was light like a gentle kiss on Him, and like boundless water. Quiet, composed, powerful, he stood up. All the tribulations of the past are without trace, as if they had never happened, for He was completely new. He walked out of the grave.
My eldest brother, he has suffered the most, he has walked through the most difficult, he has overcome the most terrible, and he has been with me ever since. When He took the cross, he was accompanied by a trembling, powerless, unaware, and ready to flee, but the cross on my back he held in His own hands. The kiss and light that fell on the grave also fell on me.
I couldn't have experienced it before because of how great the grace of our death on the cross was. I know that He is sinless, I know that the so-called guilt is the sin of all mankind, as Luther said, He is the thief, the thief, the murderer, the adulterer, but I can't feel how great this sin is. When He was hung on the cross and slowly erected, the moment was thrilling. In a heart that is not bigger or stronger than anyone else," the deepest, the darkest, the most bitter, the most terrifying. The blood and souls of the murderers and the slain are there; the pain of the loss of the robbers and the robbed is there; the tears of the mother of the dead son are there; the hearts broken by love are there; the womb of the torn virgin is there; even a look of ill will, a bad word, a footprint, a minimal scar— is there. I was there too. In the end, jesus' atrium ruptured, was it broken by his own blood—do you know what it was broken?
