It is reported that as a key play to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, the large-scale acrobatic stage play "Nie Er" was produced and created by Yunnan Acrobatic Troupe Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Yunnan Cultural Investment Group, which has been planned since 2019, taking the life of the people's musician Nie Er as the story model, and the story section basically follows nie Er's life trajectory, borrowing the emerging stage art form of acrobatic stage drama to interpret Nie Er's short and brilliant life. The repertoire is designed as a prologue and an epilogue, presented in five acts, with a total length of about 90 minutes.

The play has made innovative breakthroughs in plot structure and acrobatic design, taking symbolic acrobatic skills as the "point", the repertoire story as the "line", the fusion of multi-artistic elements as the "surface", and the "point" string "line" to broaden the "surface" presented by the play to enrich the expression of the repertoire. The drama invited dong Zhengzhen, a well-known acrobatic choreographer and director dong Zhengzhen, who had compiled excellent acrobatic dramas such as "Battle in Shanghai" and "Reconnaissance of Crossing the River", as the core of the domestic first-class repertoire editing and creation team to tailor-made, and invited Zhang Hongguang, a famous composer who had created such popular works as "Borrowing Five Hundred Years from Heaven", "Jingzhong Baoguo", and "Waiting" to compose music for the repertoire.
