Recently, the reporter walked into this group and knew this cultural business card that inherits the spirit of Nie Er.

A collection of bamboo instruments

Early in the morning, the yuxi Nie'er Bamboo Orchestra rehearsal hall, the members are practicing intently, the sounds of various bamboo instruments are intertwined, sometimes soothing and feminine, sometimes sonorous and powerful, making people feel like being in a verdant bamboo forest.

The rehearsal hall displays and displays a wide range of bamboo instruments of different shapes and structures. Before the two-tone bamboo pipe instrument, which is made of 56 bamboo pieces, up to 3.5 meters long, and has obtained two national patents for utility model and design, Li Tingxin, deputy leader of the Yuxi Nie'er Bamboo Orchestra, told reporters: "One year, the orchestra collected wind in the Yuanjiang River and saw the local ethnic minority people tapping the bamboo tube filled with water to drink when they were resting, and with the rhythm of the bamboo tube, the song and dance were carried out, which gave the orchestra the inspiration for the research and development teacher. They developed a bamboo pipe instrument through a combination of bamboo tubes of different lengths. ”

As early as 2004, the Bamboo Orchestra began to devote itself to the development of bamboo musical instruments, innovating folk bamboo musical instruments, and artistically using bamboo living utensils commonly used by the people. "Instruments made of bamboo are generally seen, but our bamboo instruments are unique. For example, the bamboo bell is installed on a shelf shaped like a bamboo building, the bamboo row organ is high on the bamboo floor, and the smoke pipe flute looks like a hookah used by us Yunnan people. Li Tingxin said.

In September 2005, the Yuxi Nie'er Bamboo Orchestra was officially established, dedicated to the protection and inheritance of bamboo instrument making skills, and in the form of an orchestra, visualized and systematically carried out the research and development and performance of bamboo instruments. In August 2009, the "Bamboo Musical Instrument Making Technique" declared by the Yuxi Nie'er Bamboo Orchestra was successfully selected into the second batch of intangible cultural heritage list in Yunnan Province. Up to now, the Bamboo Orchestra has collected and developed more than 70 kinds of bamboo musical instruments such as bamboo tambourines, bamboo row organs, bamboo pipe organs, bar reed flutes, Tuliang, hum, etc., and obtained a total of 15 national patents for invention, utility model and design.

The bamboo instruments innovatively produced by the Yuxi Nie'er Bamboo Orchestra cover the high, medium and low sound areas, bringing new vitality to traditional musical instruments from the folk. "The production of bamboo musical instruments is a kind of inheritance and protection of the excellent traditional culture of the nation, and it is also an improvement and perfection on this basis, and it is an innovation and promotion that keeps pace with the times." Li Tingxin said.

Geng continued to inherit the spirit of Nie Er

In October 2005, the Yuxi Nie'erzhu Orchestra caused a sensation when it first performed in Beijing. At that time, the members of the orchestra dressed in the costumes of many ethnic groups in Yunnan, carrying 11 kinds of bamboo instruments with newly developed shapes and novel names, played on the stage "Bamboo Forest Bu Shao" adapted from Yunnan folk songs, "Playing the Yangtze River" and other music pieces created by Nie Er, which attracted the audience's amazement.

In 2008, the Yuxi Nie'er Bamboo Orchestra participated in the closing ceremony of the Beijing Olympic Games, playing the interlude of the movie "Diving Sea Girl" with bamboo instruments, and then performed 18 performances in the Olympic Park; in early 2009, the Bamboo Orchestra was invited by CCTV to participate in the Performance of the Spring Festival Gala of the Ministry of Culture, and in October of the same year, at the invitation of the Shanghai World Expo Organizing Committee, it successfully completed the selection and award ceremony of the World Expo Pavilion and the closing ceremony of the Shanghai World Expo; in 2011, the Bamboo Orchestra went to Hungary to participate" China-Hungary-Europe Bridge of Culture Literary and Art Gala", in July of the same year, he was invited to Sweden to participate in the Baltic Music Festival... Along the way, the Nie Er Bamboo Orchestra has been characterized by "new, earthy, special and strange", and with its own research and development of bamboo instruments, it has brilliantly displayed the original ethnic music of Yunnan on various stages and disseminated the music created by Nie Er, which has won the applause of audiences across the country and even around the world.

Li Tingxin told reporters that over the years, in the exploration and development of the Yuxi Nie'er Bamboo Orchestra, it has also inherited the creative spirit of Nie'er and insisted on creating a series of works representing the higher level of national music in Yunnan and Yuxi, highlighting the style of nationality and fashion. In recent years, the works created by the Bamboo Orchestra have won many awards such as the Gold Medal of the Fifth National Folk Song and Dance Exhibition in Yunnan Province, the "Stars Creation Award" of the 14th National Stars Award, and the Gold Award of the Sixth National Folk Song and Dance Exhibition of Yunnan Province.

It is worth mentioning that in 2016, the Yuxi Nie'er Bamboo Orchestra made a stunning debut of the large-scale innovative cross-border fusion stage work "Secret Yunnan" after ten years, which was a blockbuster, and its composition, performance, and dance design choreography closely followed the theme of "bamboo music", and the ingenuity was to integrate the performance of the instrument into different situations and song and dance performances, showing the relationship between bamboo instruments and the lives of ethnic minorities in Yunnan. So far, "Secret Yunnan" has toured more than 50 times across the country and has received widespread attention and praise.

According to reports, today, the Yuxi Nie'er Bamboo Orchestra is creating a new play "Flower Waist Bamboo Girl". Yuxi is the hometown of Nie Er, with rich national and folk music resources, Nie Er Bamboo Orchestra will make full use of this advantage, carry forward the excellent national culture, actively inherit and carry forward the spirit of Nie Er, and continuously inject the musical soul into Yuxi.
