In my opinion, if you want to understand a city, then the museum will definitely be your first choice, where you can appreciate the humanistic charm of the city through thousands of years of cultural relics.
Although the Zhejiang Provincial Museum in Hangzhou has a rich collection and is located in a downtown area, it is still very niche compared with many people's provincial bo.
The Zhejiang Provincial Museum contains two exhibition areas, namely the Wulin Pavilion area featuring Liangzhu culture, Northern Song Dynasty painted sculptures, And Wangong Palanquins, and the Gushan Pavilion area featuring the cultural relics of Wenlan Pavilion and Leifeng Pagoda, which are four major library buildings.
Among them, I personally prefer the richer collection of martial arts pavilion areas, almost every time I go to stay for 2-3 hours from the first floor to the third floor. If you are traveling to Hangzhou for the first time and want to appreciate the charm of the Zhejiang Provincial Museum in a short period of time, then you can focus on admiring the horses and stopping to share a few cultural relics, I believe it will definitely surprise you.
The first cultural relic I want to share is a statue of a bodhisattva
This cultural relic comes from the Wenzhou White Elephant Pagoda, in the 1960s, the Wenzhou White Elephant Pagoda was seriously tilted and could not be reinforced and repaired again, it had to be demolished, and many cultural relics placed in the 8 pagodas were found, one of which was the most precious of the Northern Song Dynasty painted statues, and this painted statue of the Bodhisattva was a fine product.
It can be said that China's color sculptures to Dunhuang, Shanxi Foguang Temple, Qinglian Temple and other Tang Dynasty color sculptures are the most exquisite, unfortunately the number of existing Tang Dynasty color sculptures is very small, the emergence of the White Elephant Pagoda This batch of Northern Song Dynasty color sculptures to fill the gap in China's early color sculptures, can be described as far-reaching significance.
Next, take a look at this statue of a painted statue, which is about 0.64 meters high, the bodhisattva head is slightly chin, the face is long and round, the eyebrows are long and thin, the lips are painted vermilion, the neck is worn with a jewel, wearing a red plaid long skirt, wearing a scarf, the hands are placed on the chest, the feet stand on the lotus seat, slightly inclined in an S-shape, and the proportions are harmonious and relaxed.
Compared with the solemnity of the Tang Dynasty statues, this bodhisattva statue is a good interpretation of the secular atmosphere of the Northern Song Dynasty statues, and it looks more approachable. The so-called secular atmosphere is closer to the faces of the people at that time, as if they saw a young girl in the Northern Song Dynasty.
The second cultural relic I want to share Is the Yuanlongquan kiln celadon boat-shaped stone drop
Perhaps because the King of Yuqun is too ancient, or perhaps because the Northern Song Dynasty painted bodhisattvas are so exquisite, that another treasure of the town hall, the Longquan kiln celadon boat-shaped stone drops of the Yuan Dynasty, are rarely asked.
But it doesn't affect my liking for it in the slightest, this porcelain is only 9.1cm high, it looks very exquisite, but it is such a small object that creates a rich content.
The whole artifact is in the shape of a boat, with a barn and a shed, and there are railings on both sides, and there are men and women sitting on the ground in the cabin, and it seems that they are talking if they look closely.
In addition to the rich content, the porcelain is glazed inside and out, and the color is green and shiny, which can be called a fine work in the Longquan kiln.
The third artifact I want to share: Yue kiln black glazed bear-shaped lamp
This is a Yue kiln porcelain excavated from the ruins of the Eastern Han Temple in Shangyu, although few tourists pay attention to the cultural relic, but with its exquisite shape, it has become a national first-class B cultural relic.
Take a closer look at this artifact, the whole lamp is made in the shape of a bear, the bowl on the top of the head is mainly used for oil, the bear's shoulders are tilted down, the legs and feet are bent in front of the abdomen, and the hands are holding a small bear. If you look closely, you can also see the rat-shaped animal with a disc on the knee part.
It can be said that as a national first-class museum, there are many cultural relics worth seeing in zhejiang provincial museum, in addition to the few cultural relics just shared, national treasures such as the King of Yuzheng, the Tang Dynasty Sunset Xia-style "Cai Feng Mingqi" seven-stringed violin, the Qing Dynasty gold leaf appliqué palanquin and other national treasures can also let you appreciate the cultural heritage of Zhejiang.
