Lin Hong, a member of the Communist Party of China, is the director and chief physician of the Department of Breast Surgery of Zhuhai Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, who has been engaged in clinical work in breast disease for more than 20 years, and has been the first in Zhuhai for many years. Since the outbreak of this round of the epidemic, she has played a pioneering and exemplary role of party members, led the department to overcome difficulties, not only actively participated in the city's nucleic acid screening, but also ensured the normal operation of medical business, and the monthly operation volume exceeded 50% of the normal period.

Zhuhai Doctor Lin Hong: I can't say I'm tired and make patients wait

When there was no epidemic, I was too busy to touch the ground

As a veteran party member and a department manager, Lin Hong has always taken the lead in her post. She arrives at the hospital half an hour early each morning to admit patients admitted the day before. Worried about the patients running back and forth several times, she left them their mobile phones and told them to prepare nucleic acid and other preparations in advance. Afraid of missing the patient's phone, she always told the patient to call at night, because during the day she was soaking in the operating room and could not receive the phone.

On the morning of January 25, she completed four breast cancer surgeries and didn't have time to stop until the afternoon. She is almost 60 years old, and occasionally feels physically weak, especially at noon to take a break to complete the afternoon work with high quality. After the outbreak of the epidemic in Zhuhai, her outpatient and surgical patients did not decrease, but increased.

"The condition is serious, and the patients can't take care of the epidemic situation, so they will come to see." Lin Hong introduced that the difficulty is that as a well-known breast surgery expert, she usually has assistants to help her complete trivial matters such as writing medical records and changing dressing, and she can concentrate on outpatient visits and surgery. After the outbreak, Corey's colleagues were pumped to collect nucleic acid, and she had to come by herself for big things and small things, which was hard. In order to cooperate with the city's anti-epidemic work, the entire medical system has adjusted the outpatient and surgical hours accordingly, but Lin Hong's breast surgery department is as usual. "When you come to us, the general situation is urgent, I can't let the patient wait, the cancer surgery can't wait, can't let the early patients wait for the middle stage, and the middle patients wait for the advanced stage." Lin Hong said.

50% more surgeries than before during the pandemic

Patients are important and surgery is important, but Lin Hong has not delayed the city's anti-epidemic work for a moment. Since the outbreak of the epidemic on January 13, Lin Hong's breast surgery department has been strictly arranged according to the task every time, and many medical nurses have been sent to participate in the city's nucleic acid screening. On January 22, Corey received a notice to send six paramedics to support nucleic acid sampling. At that time, 5 doctors in Corey, one was pregnant, one was tired, one was out of the clinic, Lin Hong and the remaining doctor, plus 4 nurses went to the most remote village in Nanping to collect nucleic acid.

As a director, Lin Hong not only contributes to the surgical excellence, but also has a high degree of management wisdom. She sympathized with her subordinates, and sometimes she received a message at 1 a.m. to support nucleic acid sampling, but instead of making a phone call to explain the task, she contacted the doctor on duty to coordinate. "Make a phone call to wake one up, and as soon as you wake up, someone can't sleep." Lin Hong said. Considerate in exchange for thoughtfulness, sometimes after 5 consecutive days of clinical work, two days on the weekend to go out to collect nucleic acid, a colleague is sick, Lin Hong wants to go out to collect nucleic acid for this colleague, and the result is robbed by the head nurse on the grounds of "you are old". According to statistics, as of January 27, the department has sent more than 40 people to participate in the city's nucleic acid testing.

Even if the epidemic lasted for more than a dozen days, even though Corey had been sending people to participate in nucleic acid sampling in the city, breast surgery completed 20 cancer surgeries that month, 50% more than the previous month.
