Tang Wei is a graduate supervisor from the Department of Neurology OF Xinhua Hospital Affiliated to Dalian University, who has been engaged in clinical research and teaching of neurology for more than 20 years, with a solid theoretical foundation in neurology and rich clinical experience.

Like most doctors, Tang Wei is engaged in the field of neurology because he considers neurology to be one of the most fascinating disciplines, and the process of diagnosing diseases is as wonderful as The Sherlock Holmes. Indeed, among all disciplines, neurology is one of the most sophisticated, most complex and most mysterious disciplines, although many diseases have not been overcome, and some difficult diseases have many challenges in diagnosis and treatment, but in Tang Wei's view, this is what attracts him, he likes challenging work.
Similarly, online teaching is also a very challenging job for Tang Wei, from the very beginning of accepting medical doctors to stand in class, to now investing 1-2 hours a day in online teaching, the teaching skills are not superb, but the content is practical, directly hit the pain points of students.
Of course, the road to online teaching is not smooth all the way, or it needs to face many difficulties.
Tang Wei introduced: "The biggest difficulty lies in the physical trouble, due to the need to record classes on the platform regularly, answer the confusion of students in the group, etc., which will cause voice problems, so the class was suspended for several months, and later because of the strong support, care and encouragement of the students, let me return to the road of online teaching." ”
"Secondly, there will be a certain difference between balancing clinical and online teaching, clinical work is relatively busy, sometimes it is difficult to calm down to give everyone a prepared course, and online teaching work will be delayed." Therefore, in addition to my free time on weekends, I will try to use my off-duty time to deal with teaching affairs. ”
In addition to recording online courses, Tang Wei will also teach in the form of cases in a friend group, and he also has a student group of about 6,000-7,000 people, and does his best to help them go further and further on the road of neurology.
Tang Wei mentioned that in fact, clinical work and teaching work are complementary, in the process of preparing for teaching, it is also a process of self-improvement, such as the interpretation of some cases, the need to consult literature and other materials, which is also one of the main reasons why he is full of interest in teaching, helping others while improving his own level.
Students are partial to grassroots doctors
Tang Wei introduced that his students are generally doctors in neurology, or doctors in neurology-related disciplines such as imaging, rehabilitation, geriatrics and so on. Most of these doctors come from grass-roots hospitals, including township hospitals and county-level hospitals, and of course, there will be a small number of doctors from tertiary hospitals.
In the past ten years of the new medical reform, strengthening the grassroots has always been one of the core policies. In fact, the learning and growth methods of grass-roots doctors are still limited, but the advent of the Internet mobile era has broken certain time and space restrictions, and only a mobile phone can be used to learn, and the professional medical learning software that keeps pace with the times has undoubtedly brought the gospel to the distressed grass-roots doctors. Tang Wei also found the demand in such a tide, and chose the medical community, which is a platform dedicated to the continuing education of doctors, and has not abandoned it for 7 years, contributing to the continuing education of the majority of grass-roots doctors.
In 2019, the "medical community" conducted a "Survey on the Digital Learning Behavior and Cognition of Chinese Doctors", which was attended by nearly 3,000 practicing doctors, of which nearly 500 were grassroots doctors. The survey results show that clinical practical experience sharing, clinical case analysis, and guideline consensus interpretation are the three major types of academic information that grassroots doctors believe are the most helpful for actual diagnosis and treatment. In addition, the most worrying problems for grassroots doctors when learning online courses include: the courses are not suitable for clinical practice, the content is outdated, and the content has academic errors.
After understanding this market pattern, Tang Wei can accurately grasp the needs of students when formulating courses. He admitted that although online teaching is very draining of personal energy, but the urgent need for business promotion of students, so that he has the motivation to persevere, especially the grass-roots neurologists, when going to school, there is no systematic learning, to the clinic, neuroanatomy, imaging is difficult to understand, business ability development to a certain extent will encounter bottlenecks, which require targeted learning to break through.
