According to the Lanzhou Evening News on January 26, the opening of the Beijing Winter Olympics is imminent, and the reporter learned from the Gansu Provincial Winter Sports Management Center that through layers of selection, a total of 13 people in Gansu have been selected for the Chinese Legion of the Winter Olympics, respectively, as event technical officials and national team service support personnel, contributing to the Strength of Gansu for the Winter Olympics.

The domestic technical officer of the Winter Olympic Games, referred to as the NTO, is the general term for the technical representatives, competition officials, referees, and measurement officials of the event. After the joint training and selection of the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee and relevant national associations, Wang Xiao, Wang Aming, He Xiaobing, Wang Hongwei, Jiang Songyang and Zhao Lei and other 6 people in our province served as the domestic technical officials of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games, providing competition organization and services for alpine skiing and Nordic events for the Winter Olympics.

In addition, liang hong, Zhang Xiuhua, Ma Hao, Gao Binghong, Jin Peng, Salita Natti Bahati, Shi Hong and other 7 people in our province have been successfully selected for the national team service guarantee team. At the Winter Olympics, they will provide medical, scientific research and rehabilitation services for the freestyle skiing U-slot, obstacle course chase, alpine skiing, steel frame snowmobile, snowboarding and cross-country skiing teams.

Zhou Jinping, director of the Gansu Provincial Winter Sports Management Center, told reporters that in order to actively implement the relevant policies, the Provincial Sports Bureau has selected more than 100 athletes from judo, martial arts, athletics, hockey and other projects to participate in the cross-border cross-border selection of the National General Sports. "In this process, through layers of elimination and screening, Zhao Lei of our province was finally selected as a cross-country skiing national training team in 2019."

Born in 2000, Zhao Lei is a native of Tongwei and has won the Javelin Championship in the Gansu Provincial Youth Athletics Competition. As one of the first cross-country skiers in the national cross-border cross-sports selection, Zhao Lei has never been exposed to ice and snow sports before. After entering the national training team, Zhao Lei started from road roller skating and stepped towards professional skiing, and soon emerged. In the 2018-2019 National Cross-Country Ski Championships Young Men's 30km Cross-Country Skiing Event, he was the only northwestern runner among the 30 finishers in the project, and the first person in Gansu to stand on the podium (bronze medal) for the first time in the national ice and snow event. In 2021, at the 2020-2021 National Cross-Country Skiing Championships, Zhao Lei and the inter-provincial combination of Jilin Zhang Guoqing won the men's team sprint (traditional) event. This is also the first time that Gansu has reached the highest podium in a major domestic competition since the establishment of the winter project professional team.

Zhao Lei is an athlete at The Dingxi Sports School, and his conditions, including his abilities, are relatively prominent. However, according to the selection criteria of national team athletes, only 4 men and 4 women can finally enter the Winter Olympics (cross-country skiing event). According to the situation of athletes in various provinces, Zhao Lei was arranged to serve as the leader of the Nordic biathlon. Zhou Jinping said that in such a short period of time, it is a very big breakthrough for athletes in our province to participate in the national training team and staff to serve the national team.

Nordic biathlon is the first winter sport to be popular only in Norway and Sweden, including ski jumping and cross-country skiing. At the Beijing Winter Olympics, the Nordic biathlon will produce three gold medals, which will come from the individual standard platform + 10 km cross-country skiing competition, the individual big jump + 10 km cross-country skiing competition and the team big jump + 4x5 km cross-country skiing competition.

In December 2019, the Gansu Winter Sports Management Center was officially established. After the establishment of the center, the provincial cross-country skiing team and the provincial biathlon team have been set up, and a number of coaches have been hired from the northeast and Inner Mongolia, and the athletes trained have begun to win in the competition.
