On Thursday (June 24), New York State Police said a New York State Police officer was shot in the arm while handling a domestic violence case in the upper part of New York State.

According to the Associated Press, on Wednesday (June 23), at about 9 p.m., in the town of Depossett, Delaware County, New York, New York State Police Officer Ryan Thorp was shot in the arm while handling a domestic violence case, and his condition has stabilized after being sent to the hospital for treatment.

On Thursday (June 24), Scott A. Mawhiney, a 44-year-old man, was charged with Grade 1 attempted murder during a court arraignment, and a judge ordered him not to be released on bail, and he is currently being held in prison.

On June 9, a New York State policewoman in the colesville area of the eastern suburb of Binghamton, Bloom County, New York, was shot near her buttocks while handling another case and was taken to a nearby hospital.
