China successfully launched the land exploration of the First Group 01 A star

The reporter learned from the China National Space Administration that at 7:44 on January 26, the mainland used the Long March 4 C carrier rocket at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center to successfully launch the land exploration of the No. 1 Group 01 A satellite (L-band differential interference synthetic aperture radar satellite A star). The satellite has the characteristics of all-weather, all-weather, multi-mode and multi-polarization, which can meet the needs of basic geographic information acquisition such as land resources, earthquakes, disaster prevention and mitigation, surveying and mapping, forestry, etc., accelerate the formation of rapid response capabilities for major disasters, and provide space observation technical support for achieving global goals such as sustainable development.

The Land Exploration No. 1 Group 01 satellite is a scientific research satellite in the "National Civil Space Infrastructure Medium and Long-term Development Plan (2015-2025)", consisting of A and B satellites, operating in a quasi-solar synchronous orbit at an altitude of about 600 kilometers. Both stars are equipped with L-band synthetic aperture radar (SAR) payloads with a variety of imaging modes, with a maximum resolution of 3 meters and a maximum observation range of up to 400 kilometers. It will make full use of the wavelength length of L-band radar and have the characteristics of penetration ability in the vegetation area, which can provide long-wave synthetic aperture radar data with wide coverage, large density of measurement points and high repetition frequency for early identification of disaster hazards in areas with complex conditions and difficult to reach by ground investigation.

The double star can carry out two flight modes in orbit: follow-up flight and orbital flight. It operates on the same regression orbital plane in the follow-up mode, with a phase interval of 180 degrees, with the ability to observe the repeated orbit of a single star for 8 days and a double star for 4 days, and the differential interference synthesis aperture radar deformation measurement technology is applied by obtaining multi-scene images before and after the ground settlement change, data processing, and deformation information are extracted, effectively supporting the application needs of ground settlement, landslide, ground collapse, earthquake deformation and so on. The orbiting formation mode can realize high-precision ground elevation measurement of interferometric synthetic aperture radar through high-precision phase, time and space synchronization between stars.

The mainland is one of the countries with the strongest development of geological disasters and the largest number of deaths due to disasters in the world. The state attaches great importance to the prevention and control of natural disasters on the mainland, launches a three-year action for the prevention and control of geological disasters, and makes every effort to promote the capacity building of geological disaster prevention and control. In the past, the mainland invested nearly 10 million yuan every year to purchase foreign interference SAR satellite data, and the effective coverage rate of foreign satellite data on the mainland was low, making it difficult to support the operational application of continental topographic surveying, geological disaster monitoring and early warning. The successful launch and application of the satellite will greatly change the passive situation in which the sar satellite data of the mainland relies heavily on foreign countries, and provide important data and technical support for natural resources and related industries.

The China National Space Administration is responsible for the organization and management of the satellite project, the organization and coordination of major matters and the approval of launch permits, the Ministry of Natural Resources is the main user unit, and the Ministry of Emergency Management, the Ministry of Civil Affairs and other user departments are responsible for the construction and operation of the application system, the China Resources Satellite Application Center and the Institute of Aerospace Information Innovation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences are responsible for the construction and operation of the ground system, the Shanghai Academy of Aerospace Technology of the Aerospace Science and Technology Group is responsible for the overall development of the satellite system and the carrier system, and the Department of China's Satellite Launch Measurement and Control System is responsible for the implementation of the launch site and the measurement and control system. Land Exploration I 01 Group B star is scheduled to be launched at the end of February.

This is the 407th launch of the Long March series of carrier rockets.
