In the second grade, the school suddenly announced that in addition to our nursing major, we could take an additional midwifery major. I heard from my sisters that the profession of midwife has long disappeared in school. I heard that at the earliest time, the midwifery profession was quite embarrassing, that is, it was not a nurse nor a doctor, and there were few hospitals that recruited, so the job was difficult to find, and gradually, this profession was canceled.
The most attractive thing for me is that this time the midwifery profession is entrusted by the first and third hospitals to be trained at a fixed point, that is, when graduating, as long as you can meet the requirements of the hospital, you can directly enter the hospital to work. Of course, because it is a double major, so after graduation, you can choose in both directions, and if you don't want to be a midwife, you can still go to other hospitals to apply for general nurses.

After graduation, most of my classmates and I successfully entered this hospital. Became a midwife.

The first time A classmate and I went to work with a teacher was night shift.
At first, there was nothing to do, and the teacher said quite easily, it seems that today is still quite empty. It turns out that the delivery room can't be a mess, and a tease is bound to make you look good.
That night, we picked up 12 babies.
The scene was comparable to a battlefield.
A row of lying mothers all kinds of shouts one after another, we and the teacher, all the time to monitor the situation of the mother and fetus, after reading this, that and called, comfort this, that shouted again, "I don't want to give birth!" On the one hand, he also kept pulling his throat to comfort them not to shout, and to save their physical strength until the end.
When we first entered the delivery room, we were so busy that our brains were too late to turn, and there was almost not much left of the written knowledge that we had learned before.
We listened to the teacher's instructions the whole time, and we were so busy that we couldn't wait to grow three heads and six arms at once. Fortunately, the foundation is solid and there is no mistake.
However, the actual battle scene of the baby was really very shocking.
It turned out that a living person was actually born from the mother's body so wetly, it turned out that the placenta still had to reach in and take it out, it turned out that the force was too strong to cause tearing, sewing up is such a troublesome thing.
When I got to work, I found that the whole delivery room was like a battlefield left behind, a mess, and some pregnant women pulled the delivery bed, no wonder I always felt that the room air was strange.
At this time, I found that my waist was already sore, the surgical gown did not know when it was stained with blood, the front chest and back were almost soaked, and I did not know whether it was sweat or amniotic fluid.
Back in the duty room, I saw that on the table, the noodles called by the teacher last night were not eaten by the three people, and they had already dried up, so they remembered that the three people were too busy to eat anything from last night to the morning.
In addition to the hustle and bustle, there was another thing that I remembered deeply.
That day, I was temporarily called to help with an emergency caesarean section. I've been working for two months at this time, and the caesarean section is very simple for me.
It was only when he was about to take the stage that he learned that this patient was positive for syphilis. Although this is my first contact with this type of patient, it is inevitable that I will be a little nervous, but as long as I do a good job of protection, it will be fine.
However, the accident happened, and the moment the uterus opened, the squirted amniotic fluid splashed directly into my eyes.
"Oops! Amniotic fluid is in the eye! ”
The teacher in the operating room next to me saw it, quickly pulled me down, rushed to the sink, and without saying a word, directly used the whole bottle of normal saline to help me flush my eyes. At that time, I was afraid that my eyes hurt and my head was blank, and I didn't know what to do. What I did next, what to draw blood, fill the hospital sense report, injections or whatever, what the teacher told me to do, I did what I did, a circle down my brain is completely ignorant.
The hospital informed me to check Treponema pallidum two months later.
These two months, I really don't know how I survived.
Although the treatment of this disease is very simple now, it has left a psychological shadow on me, and more importantly, I don't know how much it will affect my work.
If I am really unlucky enough to be infected, can I continue to work here?

Whenever I think about it, I lose sleep all night and can't eat. In this two-month period, I lost more than a dozen pounds. And in addition to going to work, I went back to the dormitory, and I didn't go anywhere else, even on National Day, I used the excuse that the hospital was very busy and didn't dare to go home.

And some doctor's orders, prescriptions and caesarean sections or some emergency situations are when gynecologists appear.
Some people say that anyway, the mothers are born by themselves, and you midwives will take care of the matter, and the work in the delivery room should be very easy.
On the contrary, this work is a great challenge for both physical and mental strength.
In addition to the various contamination sites mentioned above and the danger of being easily infected by some patients. Mental stress is the biggest challenge we face.
You must have heard that a woman giving birth to a child is like passing through the "ghost door", which is really realistic. Don't think that a smooth birth is all the best, because often no one knows when an accident will occur. It is very likely that one second everyone is preparing to happily prepare for a new life, but the next second it will give you a life and death speed, which is extremely challenging to the limits of the heart, and it happens almost often.
I once encountered a pregnant woman who broke through the water and suddenly shouted, "Doctor, I have chest tightness!" Turning her head to see that her face began to turn white, the color of her lips was obviously purple, and in just a few seconds, the monitor showed that her blood pressure fell down.
Before I could react, the teacher next to me suddenly jumped up from the stool and rushed over: "Quick! Possibly amniotic fluid embolism! ", immediately open the intravenous route, inhale oxygen, and report to the doctor for emergency treatment.
Fortunately, because the rescue was timely, the adults and babies were finally out of danger.
Such emergencies, there is almost no way to prevent or predict in advance, usually the mortality rate of complications is extremely high, some as high as 90%. So, you say that we have to worry about going to work all the time.
Of course, it is inevitable that this work will be wronged.
For example, many mothers and family members always accuse us of having a poor attitude, not giving a good look, and scolding at every turn. After listening, we can only laugh and laugh.
It can only be said that the mothers and families who can generally be scolded are those who watch too many TV dramas or are disobedient.
Many maternal uterine openings have not yet been fully opened, that is, the time to give birth, as soon as they encounter contractions, they begin to shout "wah-la-la-la", persuade them, and reply to me: "TV dramas are all acted like this", listening to me full of black lines, TV series are really harmful.
It is indeed a strong job to give birth to a baby, but the strength must be used on the blade.
The most frightening thing is that the front is shouting loudly in the throat, and when you really need to exert yourself to have a baby, you can't make the strength. That's what breaks us down the most.
If shouting can give birth, what use is it for us to be midwives?
In fact, we and the mother have the same idea, that is, safe and smooth delivery. If you start from entering the delivery room, listening to our guidance, quietly waiting for the opening of the finger, to childbirth, who has nothing to do to curse people, save some effort to eat chicken after work is not good?
But if I encounter a completely uncooperative mother, then I'm sorry, I can only change my communication style, fierce!
Because the town is not fierce, I can't live the field! You can't listen to it! Don't be fierce, don't be a baby!
Although I know that in extreme pain, it is easy to lose your mind and lead to uncooperative, but you also have to think about it.
If your screaming causes the fetal heartbeat to drop, or even die of hypoxia suffocation, this is what no one wants to see.
Of course, the forest is big and there are birds.
I have met a mother who is like a leader, who is on her toes as soon as she enters the door and is very rude to us. We do all kinds of examinations for her, she has to ask the bottom of the genius willing to cooperate, and communication with her is also love to ignore me, and at every turn, she will move out of the hospital to threaten us.
When the contractions began, she shouted that she was going to be painless. I said that the uterine opening had not been opened to be painless, and she scolded us for deliberately rectifying her, and after a while, she couldn't stand the pain, and began to cry and shout again, don't give birth to herself, find an obstetrician, change to caesarean section.
When she learned that a normal birth could not be turned into a caesarean section, she began to scold her husband and family constantly.
In addition, we have also encountered those born at the time of picking luck, refusing pelvic examination, and complaining about not moving at every turn.

In fact, at the beginning of the work, I only had a salary and no bonus, and then with the accumulation of working hours, my bonus points rose little by little, and now, my annual income is about 200,000, which is always a return on the pay.
