According to Japanese media reports, on January 21, Japan Display (JDI) announced that it had reached a settlement with Tianma Microelectronics, a Chinese lcd manufacturer that disputed over the patent of the LCD panel.

The Japanese display and Panasonic subsidiaries filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court in 2020 for patents owned by two companies that were infringed by Pegasus Microelectronics.

All three companies will withdraw their lawsuits and sign a patent cross-licensing (mutual use) agreement.
