According to Japanese media reports, on January 21, Japan Display (JDI) announced that it had reached a settlement with Tianma Microelectronics, a Chinese lcd manufacturer that disputed over the patent of the LCD panel.

The Japanese display and Panasonic subsidiaries filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court in 2020 for patents owned by two companies that were infringed by Pegasus Microelectronics.

All three companies will withdraw their lawsuits and sign a patent cross-licensing (mutual use) agreement.

According to the report, JDI japan monitors that by including licensing earnings, it expects operating profit and loss, current profit and loss and final profit and loss to improve by 2 billion yen, or about 111 million yuan, respectively in fiscal 2021 (ending In March 2022).
