The solid-state flexible separator battery developed by Dongfeng Motor in cooperation with Ganfeng Lithium Industry, according to the official introduction, its diaphragm is all solid state and the electrolyte is semi-solid, which is closer to the semi-solid state battery previously released by Weilai and prepared for mass production by Beijing Weilan New Energy.

Although it is not a solid-state battery in the strict sense, the technical level of solid-state flexible separator batteries is also in the forefront at home and abroad, compared with lithium batteries with pure liquid electrolytes, semi-solid-state batteries have the advantages of higher energy density, thinner, more flexible and safer. The real sense of solid-state batteries (electrolyte completely solid-state) is currently not commercialized in the passenger car market due to cost and some technical problems.
