Scheduled for March 11, 2022, the next new title in the WWE 2K series will bring a redesigned game engine, new controls, stunning graphics and a new game mode
- January 20, 2022 - 2K today announced the full features of Visual Concepts' next new game in WWE's flagship video game series, WWE2K22. WWE 2K22 brought in Rey Mysterio as the cover character and celebrated his 20th anniversary as a WWE superstar. A globally recognized icon, Rey Mysterio is not only synonymous with traditional Mexican wrestling featuring fast-paced moves, incredible aerial skills and masked players, but has also opened the way for many agile superstars who excel at taking off. The accomplished air overlord has won multiple titles in his legendary career, wearing a variety of colorful and famous masks, and with his unique performance style, he proved that "The Ultimate Underdog" is extraordinary. WWE 2K22 is scheduled for worldwide release on March 11, 2022, and pre-order is available today.

With all the features players can master, from the redesigned game engine to the new controls, coupled with the upgraded visual effects, WWE 2K22 is "extraordinary" in terms of graphics, feeling and gameplay. The innovative game engine, paired with WWE 2K's most stunning graphics to date, guarantees a more authentic feel to the series than ever before. In addition, there are newer and more direct controls, as well as immersive presentation and various perspectives, and players will feel the power and reward of every punch, every kick and every slap.
Popular game modes, including the returning 2K Showcase – starring Rey Mysterio – combine new features with updates that allow players to relive the moments behind Mysterio's most famous game. In MyRISE, players can plan their own path to superstardom. With a Universe mode and an upgraded creative set, WWE 2K22 gives players the ability to customize the WWE experience in great detail. From manipulating brands, Live events, match results, rivals and more – or creating the ultimate custom superstar character, arena and tournament – players can share all their creations with the global WWE 2K22 community with the cross-platform sharing feature that debuted.
In addition, WWE 2K22 introduces new models for the WWE 2K experience: MyGM and MyFACTION. In MyGM, players will play the role of WWE General Manager, giving orders while building the largest brand in WWE Universe. From drafting the ultimate roster of WWE superstars and legendary superstars, to developing representative competitions and championship showdowns, players will have the opportunity to call the wind and prove themselves on the biggest stage of sports entertainment. The myFACTION mode, the first in the series, will present formidable challenges that are worth playing again and again, with players collecting and managing their dream camps through weekly events and regular updates.
