However, the actual configuration is allocated according to the headquarters, and the support received by different base areas and different military regions is different. However, compared with the Taihang Arsenal, the "family base" of the Northeast Army is much thicker. Judging from the pressureless occupation of the Liaoning Mortar Factory by more than 20 Japanese soldiers and the seizure of 2,303 mortars on the spot, the "loser" of the Northeast Army is completely beyond our comprehension.
In its heyday, the Northeast Army had four major arsenals: Shenyang Arsenal, Tianjin Dagu Arsenal, Liaoning Mortar Factory, and Qingdao Iron Factory. In order to meet the demand for artillery production, Zhang Shi imported a large amount of artillery steel from abroad when operating in the northeast, and the northeast military arsenal was also actively developing the steel industry, so it did not hesitate to import machinery and equipment from Japan and open a steel factory with Japanese-funded joint shares. Relying on these capitals, the Northeast Army has become the strongest production and assembly place for barrel artillery in China, and most of the various types of field guns, howitzers and mountain guns used in the Northeast Army are "Liao-style" self-made products. And what makes the Northeast Army most proud is the mortar field. Among all the mortars, there are five large calibers of 75 mm, 80 mm, 120 mm and 150 mm, 240 mm. Classified by traction, it is divided into two types: "wheeled" and "wheelless". Take the "Liao 11-type" 150 mm mortar as an example, that is, the old wheelless heavy mortar, the gun body weighs 210 kg, and the shell weighs 19 kg.
In order to meet the operational needs, these 150 mm or even larger caliber 240 mm mortars were distributed to the Northeast Army Defense Brigade in the formation of "6 guns and 1 company". There are wheeled 150mm mortars that can be towed and can be horse-drawn, the maneuverability is good, and all the combat will not be very difficult. But this was not the case without wheels, 150 mm heavy artillery, and the mortar company was very large, with more than 200 men, who were responsible for transporting guns and carrying shells. Fortunately, every defense brigade of the Northeast Army is equipped with a car, so it will not be difficult to maneuver. However, the problem of the Northeast Army's love to lose equipment when fighting wars is very large, taking General Lü Zhengcao's reorganization in Jizhong as an example, 6 150 mm mortars lost 2, and the 2,000-man regiment lost nearly two-fifths of the heavy firepower.
At that time, when the Japanese army rushed into the arsenals and arsenals of the Northeast Army, it was completely like a "turtle entering the city to see the world", although the Japanese army also had similar equipment, but these Japanese soldiers had never seen such a number and scale, and the commander of the Japanese division was also very happy, and after handing over these equipment to the Kwantung Army and the garrison army, they threw themselves into the war against the Soviet Union. In the Battle of Nomenkan, Liao-style heavy artillery also appeared, and the Japanese army classified Liao-style equipment into each unit in a 6-door system to strengthen firepower, bombarding the Front Line positions of the Soviet Army, and the large-caliber heavy artillery shells fell down into a large pit. However, Japan's industrial inferiority to the Soviet Union made the battle end in the victory of the Soviet army, which also captured a considerable number of Liao-style artillery and sealed them in the warehouse.
After the defeat in the war against the Soviet Union, the Japanese base camp began to devote itself wholeheartedly to the "southward" strategy. The guns, ammunition and arsenals seized from the Hands of the Northeast Army in the past have turned around and become weapons for the massacre of our anti-Japanese soldiers and civilians. From the Great Wall War to the Battle of Changsha, 70% of the guns and ammunition used by the Japanese army in China came from the northeast, and 100% of the grenadiers and mortars came from the northeast. On the basis of the industry developed by the Zhang father and son, the Japanese army's 731 unit conducted live experiments in the northeast to the military and civilians of the Central Soviet Union and Mongolia, and developed poison gas bombs that could be adapted to the front-line support artillery. Unfortunately, even if the Northeast Army felt that it could not hold on, it did not destroy these arsenals and arsenals, which were too poisonous.
