On the evening of August 5, 2021, a 59-year-old woman was transferred to the hospital in Hechengshan Town, Dalian City, who was confused, had a sharp decline in platelets, had kidney failure, and lost her vital signs two days later.
After investigation, it was learned that the patient was out pulling grass on August 1, found a bug adsorbed on the body, she did not take it seriously, and easily ripped the bug off and lost it, who knew that in just seven days, she was killed by this little bug.

Walk into the "tick"
Ticks, also known as "dog beans", commonly known as "dog lice" in rural areas, are parasitic vertebrates and human surface bugs, the whole body appears reddish brown or gray-brown, the whole body is oval, and the dorsal abdomen is flattened. It inhabits forests, grasslands, bird's nests and animal dens.
Its life can be divided into four stages. The eggs hatch out of the larvae, the larvae are only six feet, the size is only the size of sesame seeds, not easy to find, after growing into a nymph, there will be eight feet, sucking enough blood will fall to the ground and peel off the skin, becoming an adult worm. Each stage of its growth must be sucked in blood to complete its evolution.
There are more than 120 species of ticks found in the mainland, and there are more than 1,000 species of ticks in the world, and it is found almost all over the world. The most common in life are the longhorn blood tick and the blood red fan-headed tick, which generally hide in all corners of human and animal activities, hide at the top of grass or leaves, and when human animals pass by, they will quickly adsorb to the host.
Humans will emit a butyric acid smell, this smell is full of temptation for ticks, so once it is adsorbed to humans, it will look for a hidden but convenient blood-sucking location, insert the mouthparts of the head into the skin, and constantly suck blood, the original flat body will become full and round with the blood sucking, so it is also known as a "vampire". Because ticks release neurotoxins when they suck blood, they paralyze the peripheral nerves of the human skin, so they are difficult to detect.
Blood-sucking ticks will automatically fall off and find a quiet place to lay their eggs, and each female tick can lay thousands of eggs at a time, which is extremely reproductive. As the global climate continues to warm, ticks are multiplied in large numbers and can be found everywhere in life.
Talk about "tick" discoloration
In recent years, ticks hurt people more and more frequently, people "talk about tick discoloration", ticks are also known as "life-killing bugs", has become a lingering shadow for many people.
In April 2018, Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital received a total of 17 cases of tick bites, including 2 deaths.
In 2020, Qingdao Sixth People's Hospital received 20 cases of tick bites, including 4 deaths.
On 29 June 2021, an 8-day-old baby was hospitalized with a tick bite on the head.
However, what is terrible is not that ticks suck blood, just like ants and mosquitoes, what is terrible is the pathogen it carries. It is reported that ticks may carry 83 viral, 31 bacterial, and 32 protoplastic diseases.
Once infected, the bite part of the light will appear erythema, swelling and itching, and finally the ulcer will bleed yellow fluid; the heavy will have fever, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, accompanied by thrombocytopenia and kidney damage, and its salivary glands have numbing nerve toxins, which can cause paralysis and even life-threatening. The Dalian woman belongs to the latter, precisely because the tick sucked the blood with the pathogen and parasitized her body, causing the virus to be infected.
A tick bite does not burrow the entire body into the human body, it only inserts the mouthpart carrying the virus into the skin and sucks blood. There are many people who find the presence of ticks, and they drag it down with their hands, its mouthparts have barbs, and the sharp pull will only bury the head in the skin, and the ticks buried in the skin will cause erythema and blisters if they do not die, or cause tissue cell death.
And because ticks as a vector to produce diseases, as many as a dozen, such as forest encephalitis, Lyme disease, Q fever, scorch worm disease, canine Eliselis, etc., of which the more common is Lyme disease. The famous singers Lavigne and Justin Bieber were bitten by ticks and suffered from Lyme disease, which not only suffered physically and mentally, but also greatly affected their work, and 400,000 people in the United States are infected with Lyme disease every year.
Lyme disease is a systemic infectious disease, the patient appears with erythema, accompanied by headache and muscle pain, the initial can be treated with antibiotics, and later will cause meningitis, myocarditis, interviews and other pathologies.
Through calculations, scientists have found that the fatality rate after tick bites has reached 12.7% to 32.6%, and tick disease will be transmitted through body fluids, and the phenomenon of human-to-human transmission occurs. In October 2010, tick poisoning occurred in Henan, and a total of 557 such cases were monitored, including 18 deaths. So far, the national tick control work has been highly valued.
Cure the "tick" Dafa
It is understood that ticks like to survive at temperatures above 4 ° C, and april to June of each year is the active period of ticks, and we must do a good job of prevention in advance to avoid being harmed.
Tick prevention
When going out into the wilderness, wear some light-colored tight clothes, do not wear sandals, and spray floral lotion and repellent on the body before going out to prevent ticks or other mosquito bites. Also try not to sit in the grass or woods, which are easy to breed ticks, and then disinfect and wash the camping equipment and clothes after returning home, and immediately go to the bath.
In addition to adsorbing the human body, ticks will also parasitize on the pet, as the pet enters the family, endangering the health of the pet. Therefore, families with cute pets should also often do a good job of deworming for pets, often check the body of cute pets, pay special attention to the inside of the ears and neck, which is the most favorite place for ticks to parasitize.
Tick control
When the tick is found to be adsorbed on the skin, it is necessary to first apply alcohol, so that the tick body is stimulated and anesthetized and loosened, and then gently remove it with forceps, or use cigarette butts to burn the exposed body until the tick burns and falls off, and then use alcohol to disinfect the bite site. Do not throw the removed ticks, wrap them in paper and burn them, or throw them into alcohol to soak to prevent ticks from escaping and re-adsorption before they die.
Not all ticks will cause death or injury, if bitten, should immediately do emergency treatment, and observe the physical condition, if there is fever, general malaise, vomiting and other symptoms, to go to the hospital quickly, timely treatment. Because some tick diseases have a long incubation period and may have a period of one to two weeks, so do not relax and observe treatment more.
Vampires, life-killing insects, are just a nickname for ticks, as long as you do a good job of protection and treatment, keep in mind the "Key Points of Tick Prevention Knowledge Publicity", in fact, it is not so terrible. Have you ever seen this bug? Welcome to leave a discussion.
