On January 20, 2022, it was a great cold, the heavens and the earth were shaky, the crane stood in the evening pavilion, and everything was silent, but the fire of knowledge inheritance was endless. This is the fourth day of volunteer teaching.
This is my first volunteer teaching, and before that, I also hope to be able to contact children and impart knowledge as a "teacher". I am a math teacher for sixth grade children, because of the epidemic, we have not been able to communicate face to face, across the glass of the Network, between the square inches of mobile phone or computer, it is a nervous and wonderful experience for me. It is already the fourth day of volunteer teaching, from the first day of busy and nervous, to gradually find the rhythm, and then began to be handy... The production of courseware should take into account both practicality and beauty, the preparation of teaching plans should be clear and organized, the tone of lectures should be natural and intimate, and the content of lectures should be vivid, interesting and clear.
Because of the small number of people, after full communication with the students, I set the teaching goal as the preparation of the second book of mathematics in the sixth grade. Today's math class is in the second session in the morning. At ten o'clock, the students entered the meeting on time. The teaching content of this class is the knowledge of cylinders in the third unit "Cylinders and Cones", the surface area and volume of cylinders and cones are extremely important geometric knowledge in sixth-grade mathematics, and after completing the learning of this unit, students will officially learn all the geometry knowledge in primary school. At the beginning of each lesson, I will first introduce the learning content of this unit, and the chapter "Cylinders and Cones" will be divided into two lessons, and today I will focus on the understanding of cylinders, the surface area of cylinders, and the volume of cylinders. Interest in learning new content for the first time is the best teacher, the preparation of new lessons needs to improve the interest of students, leaning towers of Pisa, Hakka enclosures, cans, water bottles, etc. are all cylinders in life, so that students learn to find their own way to solve problems is far more meaningful than directly exposing the answers, I tend to take students step by step analysis, step by step disassembly, in connection with the circle and rectangle learned in the past, find common ground with known knowledge and then solve unknown problems.
In the classroom, the students' hands raising and messages are the best feedback on my teaching process, although the number is small, but the teaching is more targeted, the actual mastery of the students is the criterion to formulate a teaching plan, and the teaching goals are established based on the teaching needs of students: if you want to consolidate the foundation, consolidate the basic knowledge and improve the interest in learning; if the foundation is better, focus on the application and elevation of knowledge. In just 4 days, although I can't compare with the professional teachers of the school, I have initially felt the difficulty and responsibility of being a teacher. Even though there are only 45 minutes of class time per day, the effort after class is far more than 45 minutes.
"Teacher's Saying" has a saying, "teaching is also good", I deeply experienced the mutual promotion of "teaching" and "learning" in the process of volunteer teaching, for me, a teaching, far more than learning the content of teaching, I passed on knowledge to children, they also taught me patience, carefulness and sense of responsibility. This is an extraordinary experience that is different from the past, and it is also a spiritual wealth that enhances oneself.
Halfway through the volunteer teaching process, perhaps the eight-day encounter is only a short shot in life, but every member of the volunteer group has the wish to make the children's lives better, conscientiously attend each lesson, leave the most useful knowledge to the children, and we also believe that every child has a bright future. Today is a big cold, so that the winter is over, leaving the old and looking forward to the new spring, we all hope that the epidemic will end as soon as possible, and then we can go to the volunteer education site together to meet each other.
