All progressive books, such as the Communist Manifesto, Popular Philosophy, Lu Xun, Ba Jin, Mao Dun, and Soviet literature, were packed in the Li family's suitcase or wrapped in bed sheets;
The agents then blindfolded Mr. and Mrs. Li Monfeng with a black cloth, pushed them into a car, and detained them in the small red chamber in the backyard of the national police department.
This is a secret prison dedicated to the detention of "political prisoners", with a high wall, a power grid, and a tight security.

Li Jifeng was born into a peasant family on the outskirts of Liaoyang, Liaoning Province.
This year, just 24 years old.
His original name was Li Fuyu, and his pen names were Monsoon, Ji Crazy, Fang Jin and so on.
In 1932, when he was in middle school, he had already published his debut work "The Bird of Freedom" in the supplement of the Ta Kung Pao, showing his literary talent.
Since then, it has gradually emerged in the northeast literary circle.
In the spring of 1937, he was admitted to the Beiping Police Academy.
Shortly after entering school, the "July 7" incident broke out, and he resolutely joined the Anti-Japanese National Salvation Army and fought a guerrilla war on the outskirts of Beiping City for several months.
Outnumbered, the team was scattered, so he returned to his hometown of Liaoyang.
So he picked up a pen and made a knife and gun.

In 1939, Li Jifeng's first full-length popular chapter novel, "A Flash in the Pan", began to be serialized in the supplement of Datong Bao, which shook the northeast literary circle, was loved by readers, and sold well everywhere.
Subsequently, under the pseudonym Lei Leisheng, he published 6 works including "Poverty and Crime".
In this way, he relied on the literary and artistic front, used his pen as a knife and gun, and in his works, imitated Lu Xun's techniques, used words that were spicy and sharp, dared to expose and attack reality, and contained the content of propagating the national consciousness and ideological enlightenment of the anti-Japanese resistance between the lines, so he was deeply admired and praised by the patriotic youth of Northeast China.
Later, these essays of his were compiled into a collection called "The Sense of Miscellaneous Feelings", which was published by Changchun Puzzle Book Company.
He wrote in "The Sense of Miscellaneous Feelings":
“...... They never blindly obey, do not argue, do not agree;
They have absolute faith, but they are not arbitrary;
They have stubborn ideas, but they are not vain dreams.
Although they are ghosts around them, although there are bumps in the road, they are not terrible, they do not hesitate. ”
By the spring of 1941, Li Monfeng's reputation and his works were all the rage, known as the "Little Lu Xun of Northeast China".

Li Jifeng skillfully used the position of literature and art.
Through his works, he reached out to a large number of young readers and stimulated their enthusiasm for anti-Japanese resistance:
The visiting interviews of the nearer and the letters of encouragement from the distant, everyone strongly demanded that he be the center and voluntarily organize to do their part for the anti-Japanese resistance.
Under the influence of the subjective and objective situation, he also felt that the time was ripe and he should shout and then act.
To this end, he established the "Youth Book Club".
The Youth Reading Club, also known as the "Socialist Revolutionary Group", was a secret anti-Japanese organization spontaneously dominated by left-wing literary and art workers.
It administers a number of grass-roots groups, each group of 3-5 people, individually recruit team members, no horizontal contact between groups, the implementation of vertical leadership.
The members consulted appropriately, studied the tactics of struggle, answered young readers' questions about the direction of literary and artistic creation, and guided them in the actual anti-Japanese struggle.
At that time, there were still active in Changchun, a secret anti-Japanese organization led by Liu Rongjiu and Ma Chenglong, the "Reading Club".
In order to resist Japan and save the country, the "Reading Club" was renamed the "Iron Blood Alliance" and carried out sabotage operations such as explosions and arson against the Japanese.
Before his arrest, Li Jifeng was in contact with the Predator Alliance to discuss the merger of the two organizations.

People who can be called "enemies" must not be stupid;
On December 21, 1941, the leaders of the "Iron Blood Alliance", Liu Rongjiu and Yang Wenge, were lured by the special high school to harbin to receive so-called "training before entering Yan'an Anti-Japanese University".
During the training process, due to their extreme lack of experience in struggle, the two took the initiative to report to the "CPC Central Committee Commissioner" played by Liu Yuting, a traitor of the Special High School, saying:
"In addition to our organization, I also know that there is an anti-Japanese organization, that is, Monsoon (referring to Li Monsoon) and a surname Yi.
They secretly set up an anti-Japanese organization in Xinjing, practiced one-line liaison, and carried out anti-Japanese activities. It is possible to merge with us in the future. ”
On December 30, under the pretext of holding a "Northeast Liaison Meeting," the Special High School deceived the leaders of the "Iron Blood Alliance" and local representatives to Harbin, where they were all arrested.
The "12.30" incident, which shocked the northeast, broke out.

The next day, Li Jifeng was arrested at his residence in Changchun.

After Li Jifeng was arrested, he was severely tortured, but he gritted his teeth and resolutely refused to admit to the establishment of any secret organizations and anti-Japanese activities.
Tanaka, who was the presiding judge, was cunning and used a roundabout interrogation method to get him to tell who the Communists or the Kuomintang were.
Li Jifeng made a plan, saying that he knew the main responsible persons of the Communist Party and the Kuomintang in Changchun and a number of personnel, and if he believed him, he could lead them to arrest.
Because he writes popular novels, it is inevitable that he will come alive with fiction.
Tanaka believed it to be true and asked him to give the names and addresses of the men.
Li Monsoon said:
"These people don't have fixed addresses, use pseudonyms, and they don't tell me the truth, but I know them, and I can take you down the street to recognize them."
Tanaka said happily:
"Good! Then you will lead us." ”
Li Monsoon pointed to his unkempt image in the mirror and said:
"This look goes outside, how to do it, people are very alert, see my prisoner appearance, far away from hiding."
Moreover, I couldn't get in and out of the police department and get people to watch, and our plan went bankrupt. ”
In January 1942, Li Monfeng was transferred to the secret service base in Changchun City (now called "Safe House"), on the second floor of the Toudaogou Central TongzhongCun Hotel.
Japanese agents gave him haircuts, bathed him, bought him new clothes, and gave him "preferential treatment" in food, allowing a certain range of freedom of movement.
There were two agents in the room "accompanying" him, and the staircase was guarded, monitoring his movements.
On the morning of January 13, snow was falling in the air and the northwest wind was blowing non-stop.
After Li Monsoon got up, he went to the second floor bathroom.
Looking around, he saw that the agents who were spying on him were not around.
