The meaning of this passage is that in ancient times, Fuxi was the leader of the tribe, and it is said that he was a cultural god with a human face and a snake body. He looked up to observe astronomical phenomena such as the sun, moon, and stars; looked down at various phenomena and changes on the earth; observed the patterns of various animal furs and plants. Referring to the near self, and to the various things in the distance, gossip was created to reach the function of the gods, to compare the mood of all things.
Bagua is a humanistic symbol and philosophical category that symbolizes everything in the universe and its movement and changes, and can also be regarded as a hieroglyphic script with integrated and polysemy. It is said that the ancient Fuxi clan observed the celestial geography of nature, birds, animals, insects, fish, and human beings themselves, and was founded with reference to the Book of Hetuluo, so it is called Fuxi Bagua or Innate Bagua. Later, King Wen of Zhou changed the number and order of the innate bagua into squares, calling it the Acquired Bagua or the Bagua of King Wen.
