In March 2010, at the age of 47, Sun Changjiang was elected village chief and the following year he was elected village secretary. In his own words, "I was pushed up by everyone." Previously, the average age of the "two committees" in Magou Village was more than 60 years old, the collective economic income was zero, and going out to work became the main source of income for villagers. Seeing that the surrounding villages are getting rich, Magou Village can't even find the "pilot" people, how can the villagers not be in a hurry?
Sun Changjiang has been running out of transportation, well-informed, coupled with the fact that people are very generous, when the people will vote for him. But how to lead the village to develop well, Sun Changjiang has no bottom in his heart.
If you want to get rich, build roads first. Next, he ran all over the main and secondary roads and village group trails in the village and came up with a road construction plan. Just as he was preparing to do a big job, Dandong City suffered a flood that had not been encountered in 50 years, Jiulian Town became the hardest hit area, Magou Village suffered the most heavy losses, the basic farmland was damaged by more than 40 acres, and many main roads and bridges were washed away by the flood. "The people live on the fields, but what they destroy is the people's 'rice bowl.'" After the flood receded, Sun Changjiang actively fought for funds to repair the farmland that had been washed away and repaired 5 bridges.
By the end of 2020, under the leadership of Sun Changjiang, Magou Village has basically completed the hardening of the main road and Tunbao Road in the village, built more than 6,000 meters of river berms, drilled 4 water wells, and laid more than 3,700 meters of main water pipes. There are also leisure squares, cultural corridors, public toilets, lighting projects and other livelihood projects have also landed.
The collective economy is like a snowball
"The infrastructure has been solved, and the collective income of the village must also have a breakthrough." Sun Changjiang contracted the deserted beach in the village and earned the "first bucket of gold" for the collective.
Magou Village used this money to build a factory building for rent, and the income doubled several times. Subsequently, through investment promotion, another old factory building of the collective was renovated and leased, and through land circulation, a contiguous greenhouse was built. In this way, the collective economy of Magou Village is like a snowball, growing and developing year by year.
Although there is a way to make money, Sun Changjiang is very cautious in spending money. "Collective money is spent on the cutting edge." It was a phrase he often hung on his lips. Collective income is mainly used to develop industries that enrich the people and improve people's livelihood and well-being, such as subsidizing new rural cooperative medical expenses and school bus fees.
The village has developed well, and the cohesion of the party organization has become stronger. Five new party members were recruited in the village, and the members of the "two committees" were reduced from the original 5 to 3, and the average age dropped by 10 years. "Although it is busier than before, the officers are more efficient." Sun Changjiang said bluntly.
Behind the vote is trust and expectation
Magou Village changed, but Sun Changjiang fell ill. At the beginning of 2020, because of the epidemic prevention and control, Sun Changjiang came home late every day, sometimes simply sleeping in the office. "It feels easy to get tired and feel bored." For the physical changes, Sun Changjiang did not pay attention to it at first, until several times he almost fainted at the work site.
In April 2020, Sun Changjiang went to the hospital for examination and diagnosed it as a stomach tumor, and the tumor site had been bleeding and required immediate surgery. During the chemotherapy, Sun Changjiang still insisted on going to work. Once, he went to the greenhouse to guide the fruit radish to fight and almost fainted, and relatives and friends advised him to wait until he was well nourished before drying. But he said, "I led a lot of things, and when I didn't go to the scene, I had no bottom in my heart." ”
Last year, when the village "two committees" were replaced, Sun Changjiang knew in his heart that behind every vote was the trust and expectation of the villagers. At present, Sun Changjiang has drawn a blueprint for the development of Magou Village: by 2025, a new rural area integrating modern agricultural bases, ecological tourism, and agricultural and cultural research bases will be built, and by 2035, a model village for the integration of urban and rural areas will be built...
