Red Sea
The present name evolved from an ancient Greek name, which translates to "red sea". The Red Sea is located between northeast Africa and the Arabian Peninsula and is narrow and elongated. Most of the Red Sea is not red, but occasionally large patches of red algae appear seasonally, with steep cliffs on both sides of the Red Sea, coral reefs on the shores, and few natural harbors. The seabed terrain in the central part of the Red Sea is very rugged, the troughs are complex and changeable, the coastline is uneven, and the average depth of the entire Red Sea is 558 meters, and the maximum depth is 2514 meters. It is connected to the Mediterranean Sea by the Suez Canal to the northwest and the Gulf of Aden via the Bab el-Mandeb Strait to the south. It is the sea with the highest salinity and is an important oil transportation channel in the world. The Red Sea is known as one of the world's top three diving destinations, not only because of the clear blue waters, but also because of the diverse creatures under the water. Because of the lush red algae that grow here, when these algae multiply in large quantities, the color of the water will turn red and become a red sea.
White Sea
It is part of the Arctic Sea, the Barents Sea of the Arctic Ocean jutting into the almost land-enclosed waters of the Russian part of Europe, deep into the interior of northwestern Russia, and is the edge sea of the Arctic Ocean. It has an area of 90,000 square kilometers, an average water depth of 61 meters, a maximum water depth of 350 meters, and about 200 days a year is covered by snow-white ice. This sea is surrounded by ice and snow all year round, so people call it the White Sea. The surface of the White Sea is generally gentle and uncertain, with a flow rate of less than 800 meters per hour, while in the shallow sea areas and straits of some major bays, the flow rate can reach 8 kilometers per hour.
Yellow Sea
The Yellow Sea is the marginal sea of the western Pacific Ocean, a semi-enclosed marginal sea typical of the western Pacific Ocean, which is located between the mainland and the Korean Peninsula. It is a semi-enclosed sea in an approximate north-south direction. The average water depth of the Yellow Sea is 44 meters, the seabed is relatively flat, the maximum depth is 140 meters, and the area is about 409,000 square kilometers. The main rivers that flow into the Yellow Sea are the Yalu River, datong River, Han River, Huai River, etc., and the turbid sediment brought by the Yellow River makes this sea a yellow sea.
Green Sea
The Green Sea is one of the seven seas in the medieval Arabic geographical record, located between Saudi Arabia and Iran, because there was a large number of green algae, and the large number of algae multiplied to cause the sea to appear fluorescent green, which was once a beautiful green water, so it was called the Green Sea.
Black Sea
The Black Sea is an inland sea between Europe and Asia, which is inland and overflows from the narrow Bosphorus Strait, covering an area of about 424,000 square kilometers. The coastal states are Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, Russia and Georgia. It is named after the dark and stormy water. After the action of anaerobic bacteria, the sulfate in seawater decomposes to form highly toxic hydrogen sulfide, which is toxic to fish. The Black Sea is also the only double-layered sea on Earth. Therefore, in addition to the shallow sea area at the edge and some marine flora and fauna in the upper layer of the sea, the deep sea area and the seabed are almost a dead and silent world. The salt content of the Black Sea is almost half that of the seawater of the world's oceans.
