In the 17th round of the Premier League that ended in the early hours of this morning, Belwyn scored two goals in extra time, and Leicester City suffered a reverse kill at home to Spurs. Rogers was interviewed after the game.
Rodgers: "Against a team with top ball players, we had 93 minutes of performance and we had to fight through the game. We had moments of high level and resilience, we were disappointed to have Tottenham score the equaliser, if we had won a few confrontations then we would have won the game, but we didn't. Then you have to accept that and then lose the game and it's all our responsibility and we have nothing to complain about. We wrapped three goals into gifts and gave away three points from the game. ”
"The team had to stay the course, in that crucial area scramble, we had to control the first drop point and then that led to everybody in the squad being defensive, Doherty had a great running position and then they equalised. We made the wrong choice and passed the ball and Belwyn ended the game. We shouldn't have to do that, but we had to learn from it and they won the game with our mistakes. ”
'It was a disappointment, but we have to pick ourselves up and keep coming back to the training ground for the weekend game.'
