Haikou, 20 Jan (China News Network) -- The Fifth Session of the Seventh CPPCC National Committee of Hainan Province opened in Haikou on 20 January. At the opening meeting, "Hainan Free Trade Port Construction" became the focus of the 2021 work review and 2022 work deployment of the Hainan Provincial CPPCC.

Mao Wanchun said that in 2021, the Hainan Provincial CPPCC aims to promote the goal of comprehensively deepening reform and opening up and building a free trade port in Hainan, targeting efforts, performing duties, and achieving new results in various work. In the past year, 659 proposals have been filed, all of which have been completed, and 19 key proposals such as "Suggestions on Accelerating the Development of the Convention and Exhibition Industry in Hainan Free Trade Port" have been effectively supervised by the leaders of the Hainan Provincial Government and the Provincial CPPCC Committee.
In the past year, the Hainan Provincial CPPCC Committee has carried out in-depth and extensive consultations to promote the deepening and solidification of economic cooperation in Qionggang. Under the leadership of the Hong Kong and Macao Work Leading Group of the Hainan Provincial Party Committee, 10 special work classes have been set up for different professional fields, and the working mechanism such as monthly regular meetings has been improved; the Qionggang Economic Cooperation and Development Advisory Committee has been established, giving full play to the role of staff assistants and "super contacts", holding a remote video conference of the Qionggang Economic Cooperation and Development Demonstration Park, conducting extensive and in-depth consultations and exchanges around the planning, investment and industrial direction of the demonstration park, and stepping up the promotion of key projects of Qionggang economic cooperation, at present, there are 51 Qionggang cooperation projects, and 29 projects have been funded. Approximately USD 2.35 billion will be invested in the project.

Through regular visits, joint research, joint supervision, etc., we will deepen solidarity and cooperation with various parties and groups. Around the "excavation of cultural resources with ethnic minority characteristics, boost the integration and development of the cultural tourism industry in Hainan Free Trade Port", research and consultation, and actively promote ethnic unity, religious harmony. The Hainan Public Diplomacy Association was established to help expand Hainan's "international circle of friends". The provincial CPPCC provincial CPPCC forum on the work of Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and overseas Chinese and special lectures was held, and Hong Kong and Macao members were organized to go to Hainan Tropical Rainforest National Park to carry out education and study activities on national conditions, so as to give full play to the "double positive role" of Hong Kong and Macao members.
Mao Wanchun said that in 2022, the Hainan Provincial CPPCC Committee will closely follow the work of the Hainan Provincial Party Committee, carry out annual consultations on topics such as "Research on the Diversified Solutions of Basic Raw Materials in the New Materials Industry of Hainan Petrochemical Industry", give full play to the advantages of intelligence intensity, strengthen the research on major strategic topics in the construction of free trade ports, and put forward more forward-looking and targeted suggestions. Focus on the province's work style rectification and construction, ecological environmental protection, business environment optimization, rural revitalization, people's livelihood security and care for future generations and other fields to carry out democratic supervision.
In terms of deepening economic cooperation in Qionggang, the Hainan Provincial CPPCC Committee will make good use of the platform of the Qionggang Economic Cooperation and Development Promotion Working Group of the Provincial CPPCC Committee, strengthen the docking and coordination with the Qionggang Economic Cooperation and Development Advisory Committee, and accelerate the implementation of more key projects such as the Qionggang Economic Cooperation Demonstration Park, jewelry industry, and retail cooperation.
