Friends from afar, are you okay?

author:Orangutan in Taurus

The end of the year is approaching, it should have embarked on the road home, but this year because of the epidemic situation may have to stay in Zhengzhou for the New Year. Calm down and think about it, the friends around me have been changing again and again over the years, it seems that there are many, but there are few who are really comfortable with each other. Every time at this time, I always think of you who are far away from home, have you had a good life all these years?

Time flies, the years fly by, and in the blink of an eye it has been ten years since I left Yunnan, the place where I think I am the second hometown. It carries a very happy memory for me, and also teaches me a lot of things, the most precious of which is the friends who will always worry about me after many years.

In July 2010, I quit my job at the end of my internship and went back to the school to go through the departure procedures, and after returning to the school, I took the money saved from the internship to make up the tuition fee first, and then stayed at the school for two days, and I was ready to leave the school to find a job. My roommate inadvertently logged on to the school's official website one day on the dormitory Internet, the official website popped up a message, college students in the western program volunteers in our school to recruit fresh graduates to Yunnan or Shaanxi to participate in volunteer services, just when we were also ready to go out to find a job, we carefully read the details, volunteers are not paid, the state according to the situation of the service to give a certain amount of living subsidies, we are also holding the purpose of training their own to register. Later, after a series of audits and physical examinations, it was finally determined that at the end of July, he would leave from Hefei to Kunming for training, and then go to their respective service areas.

It was the first time I took a 55-hour train from Wuhu to Kunming, and there were more than 20 people in our group sitting in the same car, and along the way everyone talked and laughed, some played poker, bragged, and imagined what kind of service place they should be. There are also friends who shout and play games together, and when they are tired, they sit at the head of the bed and look at the novel scenery outside the window (here, I have been in the plains since graduating from college, and I have no travel experience during school). Probably the train arrived in the Hunan region, a small friend saw a horse through the window, he shouted out excitedly, and then everyone looked out the window in unison to see this rare species for us.

The train arrived in Kunming in the afternoon, and the province directly sent a bus to take us from the railway station to the hotel, where we met with volunteers recruited from Shanghai and local colleges in Yunnan. For the next seven days, we received daily training from professors from Kunming universities. Including local customs and habits in Yunnan, local policies, as well as some medical knowledge and precautions. Only then did I know that there were 26 ethnic minorities in Yunnan alone, and after the training, we also held a literary and artistic performance, and the multi-talented friends showed their talents, and I also participated in a choir to sing a song "Let the World Be Full of Love".

I remember that on July 31st, we met the person in charge of our service area, and then said goodbye to the partners who trained together and took the bus overnight to our service area. My service place is called Shideng Township, Lanping County, from Kunming to Lanping County took a night car, to Lanping when it was already the morning of August 1st, the morning rested in the hotel, to the afternoon the local government held a welcome party for us, and then we also got in touch with the leaders of the service unit. The hotel was spent the next two days, because it was the rainy season, and the road to the township was opened one day a week. Later, the deputy township chief of the township drove me and another partner to Shideng Township, and I remember that it was also raining lightly that day, and the car was driving on the mountain road along the way, and the clouds and mist seemed to be shuttling through the fairyland. After about four or five hours, we finally reached our destination, a small township built halfway up the mountain.

The two of us were assigned to work in government offices, mainly responsible for staff attendance, visiting reception, meeting notices, venue layout, and document processing. Since we came from far away, our leaders and colleagues took good care of us and quickly integrated us into the family. Here we met the first colleagues since graduation, because we can't speak the ethnic language, can't understand the ethnic dialect, they all communicate with us in non-standard Mandarin, and later some village directors and officers also slowly communicate with us in Mandarin.

Here I met a group of very friendly friends, all of whom were local civil servants or university student village officials, as well as a fellow of mine in the court. Privately, most of us are idle together (this idleness means to play together when we are fine here), and everyone is very harmonious and happy every day. The joyful and harmonious atmosphere of going up the mountain on holidays and making barbecues on the mountain has also affected some of our older colleagues, who have slowly joined us. I was an introvert, but here I quickly became cheerful and more comfortable at work.

The good times are always so short, along with the annual national examination and provincial examination, some of us go to other units, and I also ended two years of service work for my own reasons. The unit held a farewell party, and there were also little sisters who could sing and dance to express their gratitude to me, and the whole atmosphere was very cheerful without a trace of parting sadness. Until I sat on the bus to Kunming and lay on the sleeper, I couldn't stand it anymore, and A person cried out. I can't bear my friend, and I also have a deep affection for this hot land.

In the following years, every holiday or leisure time we would chat in the group and greet each other. Later, with the transfer of their work, the group gradually became quiet, and there has been no movement for a long time now. But whenever my city experiences disasters, I receive greetings from them, my heart is particularly warm, and the care from distant friends makes me temporarily forget the various hazes in life. The difficulties are temporary, and it is good to have someone to miss!

The Spring Festival is approaching, looking back on this year, it is indeed not easy, the work is not smooth, the feelings are not smooth, it seems that this year has lost a lot. But this love that is cherished in my heart will always be remembered. Friends from afar, are you okay? I miss you again!

Friends from afar, are you okay?
