Beijing, January 20 (China Youth Daily, China Youth Daily reporter Zhao Limei) Today, at the press conference of the Ministry of Emergency Management, Shen Zhanli, spokesman of the Ministry of Emergency Management and director of the Department of News and Publicity, introduced that in 2021, a total of 34,600 production safety accidents and 26,300 deaths occurred, down 9% and 4% respectively compared with 2020.

Shen Zhanli said that in 2021, the national safety production situation continued to be stable and good, and the overall situation showed the characteristics of "two declines, one basically flat, and one zero occurrence", that is, the total number of accidents continued to decline, and the number of large accidents decreased year-on-year; major accidents were basically flat; no particularly major accidents occurred.

From the perspective of major accidents, there were 16 major accidents with more than 10 deaths, the number of cases was flat year-on-year, and there was also a major accident with direct economic losses of more than 50 million yuan. These accidents are distributed in 13 provinces (regions) including Shandong, Jiangsu, Anhui, Hebei, Shanxi, Jilin, Heilongjiang, Henan, Hubei, Guangdong, Gansu, Qinghai and Xinjiang, as well as road transport, coal mines, metal non-metallic mines, construction industry, water transportation, fire and gas.

From the perspective of larger accidents, the number of accidents and deaths in some localities and industries has "doubled up": liaoning, Zhejiang, Fujian, Shandong, Yunnan and other 5 provinces have more than 20 large accidents and "double increase" year-on-year; larger accidents in industry and trade, water transportation, fishing vessels, fireworks and other industries have "doubled up" year-on-year.

Judging from the statistics of accidents in key industries and fields, the following characteristics are mainly presented: First, major road transport accidents have rebounded, trucks and agricultural vehicles have repeatedly occurred in violation of the law, and major accidents and major accidents involving risks in passenger cars have occurred frequently; second, the safety risks of construction industry have remained high, the safety risks of illegal housing renovation and expansion have intensified, the construction safety problems of major projects such as tunnels have been prominent, rural self-built housing accidents have occurred repeatedly, and gas accidents have had a large impact; third, major accidents in water transportation and fishing vessels have been initially curbed. The decline in major accidents has been obvious, but the major accidents have rebounded, and the problems of illegal transportation and risky navigation are prominent; fourth, the chemical and dangerous goods fields are generally stable, but the problem of storing chemicals in violation of laws and regulations is prominent, illegal "small chemicals" have been repeatedly prohibited, and there have been many accidents in inspection, maintenance, and fire operations; fifth, there is great pressure on mine safety production, non-production mine accidents are frequent, and illegal mining and mining have resurged; sixth, there are frequent fires in industrial, trade, and personnel-intensive places, and new risks such as energy storage power stations have increased.
