Due to the covid-19 pandemic, many young people from Hong Kong and Macao have stayed in Guangzhou for the Chinese New Year. On the 19th, Guangzhou launched cultural activities and projects such as "Bay Area Youth Refueling Bar", so that young people in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area can feel a different Spring Festival and deepen the exchange and integration of young people in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.
Relying on the two platforms of Guangzhou Youth Culture Palace and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Youth International Cultural Exchange Center (Yuexiu), the "Bay Area Youth Refueling Bar" project focuses on six actions in the Greater Bay Area, including youth cultural action, learning action, volunteer action, innovation action, health action and care action, focusing on cultivating youth cultural brands and providing cultural display, exchange and dissemination services for young people.
In the newly renovated Guangzhou Youth Cultural Palace, the open public reading space is equipped with leisure sofas, tables and chairs, touch screen television, conference whiteboards, independent study rooms and other facilities; the Bay Area Youth Theater can hold theme exhibitions, talk shows, book clubs, theme salons and other activities. Guangzhou Youth Cultural Palace is located in Beijing Road, a traditional business district in Guangzhou, where there are currently 180 Hong Kong enterprises and 15 Macao enterprises, and many Hong Kong and Macao youth have taken root and developed here.
After studying and working abroad for many years, Macao youth Long Tianxiang chose to start a business in Guangzhou. "The construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area has provided a broad stage for our young people in life." He said that he recently began to build a Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area youth innovation and entrepreneurship coffee training base in Yuexiu District, contributing to the cooperation in culture, cuisine and tourism in the Greater Bay Area.
"The Spring Festival is in Guangzhou, because the company is going to open for business on the fourth day of the Chinese New Year, the work will be busy, and my family is also in Guangzhou." Long Tianxiang said that in the new year, he hopes that more young people from Hong Kong and Macao will integrate into the development of the Greater Bay Area and grow into talents here.
Su Zhiying, a young hong Kong resident, said that she would also celebrate the New Year in Guangzhou this year because of the epidemic. Su Zhiying came to the Mainland in 2016 to work in education and is currently serving as The Secretary-General of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Youth International Cultural Exchange Centre (Yuexiu).
