On January 18, local time, the Kirkuk-Ceyhan oil pipeline in southeastern Turkey exploded and caused a fire.

The fire caused by the explosion caused no casualties, and the fire spread to a nearby road, and the cause of the explosion is unknown. Bottasch, the operator of the pipeline, said the fire had been extinguished and that the company would resume crude oil shipments as soon as possible.

The Kirkuk-Ceyhan pipeline, which is about 970 kilometers long and connects Turkey's Jayhan and Iraq's Kirkuk, is Iraq's largest crude oil export pipeline. Over the years, it has been repeatedly attacked by militants, leading the Iraqi side to close pipelines from time to time.
