Tianjin, 19 Jan (Xinhua) -- In the cold winter of the ninth month, an epidemic in Aomi Kerong suddenly struck the city of Tianjin on the shores of Bohai Bay. In the Haihe Education Park in Tianjin's Jinnan District, the scenes of foreign friends and Chinese teachers and students joining hands to fight the epidemic have added a bit of warmth to this cold winter.

Outside the Information East Building of Nankai University's Jinnan Campus, Kwon Yoo-seop, a Korean assistant professor at nankai university's School of Finance, was busy as a volunteer.

Quan Wu xie, who has lived in China for more than a decade and speaks fluent Chinese, lived in Guangzhou with his father who came to China to work in elementary school, and was later admitted to peking university's Guanghua School of Management and Ohio State University, and came to Tianjin after graduating with a doctorate in 2021.

This holiday was the first winter vacation that Quan Wu xie spent after entering Nankai University to teach. On the morning of the 8th, Quan Wu xie set off from his home as usual and came to work at the Jinnan Campus of Nankai University in the Haihe Education Park. Unexpectedly, Jinnan reported the sudden situation of two cases of positive infection of the new crown virus and the consequent notice of sealing and control, which disrupted his original life and work plan.

"At that time, there were still more than 5,000 teachers and students in the school, and the school attached great importance to the epidemic, reacted immediately, and soon notified the faculty and staff living in some communities to work from home, and began to implement campus closure management on the 8th." Kwon Wu Xie said.

In the past few days, Quan Wu xie has conducted three nucleic acid tests at the Jinnan Campus of Nankai University. He said he was very impressed by the ever-increasing speed of testing.

"In the first round of testing, everyone was not experienced enough, because I only had a passport, so it took some twists and turns to register information, and some hands were busy." Kwon said that since the second round of testing, the process has become more standardized, and it only took him about ten minutes to complete the second round of testing.

The speed of the third round of nucleic acid testing has "upgraded" again. "Teachers and students with ID cards can scan their ID cards to enter information, and I can also enter information with my passport. In just a few days, the efficiency of nucleic acid testing has been continuously improved, which makes me deeply feel the wisdom and strength exerted by grass-roots governance. Kwon Wu Xie said.

Infected by the atmosphere of fighting the "epidemic" together, Kwon Wu Xie took the initiative to sign up for volunteer service work in the school and became a member of the "guardians" of the campus.

Less than 8 o'clock, Kwon Wu Xie waited at the door of the Information East Building on time, checking the temperature of students, checking health codes, registering personal information, often standing for a whole day. "During the holidays, many students have to go to the college to do experiments, and I feel very happy that the work I have done can ensure the normal study and life of students."

Kwon said that in order to give the volunteers time to adjust and rest, the school has scheduled the volunteer team, and now he can go to the "rotation" every other day. "This also reflects the high enthusiasm of teachers and students to participate in volunteer service in the school, and our volunteer service team is very strong."

Supermarkets are normally stocked, canteens are normally served, schools arrange accommodation... The strong "backing" made Quan Wu Xie's heart warm and dry. "Originally, I was mentally prepared to live in the office, but I did not expect that the leaders of the school and college would not only quickly help us solve the accommodation problem and bear our accommodation costs, but also send us fruits and vegetables, mask disinfectants and other daily necessities and epidemic prevention materials, which is an important support for me to carry out research work and volunteer service with peace of mind during the epidemic." Kwon Wu Xie said.

"I can feel that China attaches great importance to the safety of everyone's life, not only from the top down rapid scheduling and deployment, but also the unity and positive response of the people." "My hometown is in South Korea, but I'm also a 'Nankai'. In order to defeat the epidemic as soon as possible, I will definitely dedicate my own strength. ”
