Recently, Hou Gui has always smiled. What makes him happy comes from a new term - carbon sink.

On December 31, 2021, the Second Plenary Session of the 13th Fuxin Municipal Party Committee proposed to play the ecological card, take the green road, and promote the green transformation of economic and social development. Carbon sinks are one of the important paths.
Since the beginning of this year, Fuxin has practiced the "Two Mountains Theory" at a deeper level and in a wider field, and has continuously opened a new channel for the transformation of green waters and green mountains into "golden mountains and silver mountains". With the windproof and sand-fixing project in northwest Liaoning as the starting point, a comprehensive declaration of war on desertified land is launched. Actively explore scientific governance methods such as trees to block sand, grass to fix sand, water to contain sand, and light to lock sand, improve the market-oriented ecological protection mechanism, deeply cultivate the carbon trading market, continuously expand carbon emissions trading, turn desertified land into grassland forest seas, and turn forest and grass resources into green banks.
The history of sand control in Fuxin dates back to the 1950s. In the past 70 years, a group of Hougui-style sand control heroes have emerged to fight against the wind and sand, build oases, and bind the yellow dragon, and build a green Great Wall on the border of Liaoning and Inner Mongolia. The advent of the carbon sink era has effectively revitalized the sleeping "green assets", transformed ecological values into economic values, and turned a new page in the history of fuxin sand control.
On December 31, 2021, the first national standard for forestry carbon sinks in mainland China, the Guidelines for the Approval and Certification of Forestry Carbon Sink Projects, was officially implemented. The inheritance of the three party branch secretaries

In 1982, Bai Yonggui served as the secretary of the village party branch. In the past 10 years, he has led the villagers to plant trees every year, and the area of closed mountains and afforestation has reached 1500 hectares, and the forest coverage rate has reached 70%.
Li Guangming, the current secretary of the village party branch, led the villagers to actively participate in the greening of the new million mu of land, and shifted the focus of afforestation from ecological forests to economic forests. In 2021, the village added 300 mu of mountain apricots, 220 mu of almonds and more than 100 mu of cold red pears, and the total amount of economic forests exceeded 5,000 mu in one fell swoop. Now, 1/4 of the village's peasant households have "cash cows", relying on the selfless gifts of the mountains, the village people's life is getting more and more prosperous.
The experience of controlling soil erosion in the sealing of mountains and forests in Maolinggou, together with the experience of afforestation and sand fixation by the Tazigou River, and the experience of preventing soil erosion in cultivated land on the slope of Zhaoshugou, are collectively known as the "three ditches experience" of Fuxin, which was promoted to the whole country in the 1960s and became one of the basic experiences guiding ecological construction and agricultural production in the northern region. Nowadays, the "Three Gus Experience" has been sublimated into the "Three Gus Spirit" of "seeking truth and being pragmatic, working hard, overcoming difficulties, and pioneering and innovating", and has become a powerful spiritual force that supports people to dare to face all difficulties and contradictions and dare to overcome all risks and challenges.
The three party branch secretaries have inherited from generation to generation the tenacious style of hard struggle and fighting in the sky and the earth, and the persistent belief of making the sky bluer, the mountains more beautiful, and the water cleaner in their hometown. Behind them, leaving behind the mangy forest sea and the good days of sesame blossoms.

Li Guangming said that in those years, when he was poor and white, it was even more difficult to afforestation in barren mountains, and the digging of pits was all based on pickaxes and shovels, and the watering and transportation of seedlings were all picked by cattle and people. Relying on this spirit, I was stunned to let the barren mountains be dressed in green, and the bald ridges were full of fruit. The mushroom ditch villagers who took up the "ecological bowl" became rich
