The total land area of Evenk Banner is 27.985 million mu. Among them: the forest area is 9.705 million mu, the grassland area is 15.894 million mu, and the other land is 2.386 million mu. Hulunbuir City issued a pilot project for the ecological restoration of reclaimed woodland grassland under our banner of 58,000 mu, of which 38,000 mu were returned to forest and 20,000 mu were returned to grassland, and all of them have been completed so far.
Forests are the main body of terrestrial ecology, and over the past ten years, the Honghuaerji Forestry Bureau has completed a total of 720,000 mu of afforestation tasks. After several generations of unremitting efforts of forestry workers, the sassafras pine forest here has developed from a group and sporadic distribution in the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China to the largest area in Asia and the only concentrated sandy sandy sassafras pine forest belt in the country.
In the "hometown of sassafras pine" safflower Erji, the foresters here have always been to protect and cultivate sassafras pine as the focus of work, in recent years, closely follow the overall situation of ecological civilization construction in the new era, the concept of ecological civilization that respects nature, conforms to nature and protects nature runs through the whole process of development, and realizes the good situation of harmonious coexistence between man and nature. The area of the dominant tree species here has risen from 8,866 hectares in 1956 to 143,000 hectares today, an increase of 16 times. Forest cover also increased from 3 per cent to 41.66 per cent.

Over the years, Evenk Banner has continued to implement forestry ecology and grassland protection projects, improve the functions of forest and grassland ecosystems, strictly implement key forest and grassland projects, implement the compensation mechanism for forest ecological benefits, and promote the sustained growth of forest coverage and the sustainable development of grassland resources in the whole flag. Up to now, the forest area has reached 2.7845 million mu, the new living standing wood accumulation is 1.13 million cubic meters, reaching 12.73 million cubic meters, and the forest coverage rate has reached 15.24%; 113,353 mu of artificial afforestation, 5,000 mu of closed mountains and afforestation, and 110,000 mu of sand prevention and control have been completed.
