Scorched stickman
The producer of "Carbon History" is Wolfgang Stiller, an artist from Germany who lives and works in Berlin. Because he has a deep understanding of the symptoms common to modern people in the city. So he created a series of special installation artworks called "Burnout Burnout".
These match figures are either placed in "sleeping pods" made of matchboxes or scattered around the exhibition space, and their "carbonized" bodies are left with different degrees of wear marks.
Stickman was left behind when he was shooting films while living in Beijing, and these works began with various head models and bamboo in Wolfgang Stiller's studio.
On a whim, he mixed the mold with the two elements of a bamboo stick, and he used exquisite technique to carve human heads on gradient black or bright red veneers, creating a series of burnt matches.

Shadow-dodging matchsticks

Tomohiro Okazaki uses a series of eye-catching matchstick "performances" with fancy "transfiguration" techniques that light up the entire desktop world.
The Tokyo-based graphic designer and artist uses a range of everyday objects: slips of paper, red paint, cans, etc., and interacts with each object with matches, combining bright and comfortable scenes to showcase the whole process from simple swings to complex "dance" performances.
Tomohiro Okazaki produced numerous twisting and deforming movements during the choreography. This short match video with a dance competition shows the precise work of cutting, moving, joining, and dragging in its entirety to produce smooth transitions.
The project, which started out as Tomohiro Okazaki to kill time during the pandemic, has become an essential part of his life. What was originally a single matchstick show has now been upgraded to a mobile frame show.

Husband and wife artist Juan Delcan (Juan. Delcan) and Valentina Lzaguirre (Valentina. Yizaguire) co-developed the Matchmaker series.

The couple's original intention is very simple, and everyone can read their works. Delcan believes that Stickman looks like stick figures, and it can evoke the first drawings drawn in the viewer's childhood memories.
Because stickmen do not have gender, age and race, not only can they serve as an objective carrier to convey information, but each viewer can also empathize with the interesting scenes in the short film, and it is easier to deepen the impression without moving.
Even a match, in the hands of the artist, can become a muse, deducing more amazing possibilities beyond their original "identity". Therefore, "art of living" is not an empty concept, but a process of playing for the "disguise" of ordinary objects.
