On January 15, researchers from the Zhaotong Dashanbao Conservation Area Conducted daily monitoring and research on bird resources in the Dashanbao Reserve, they photographed and recorded the Spear-striped Grass Partridge (Babax lanceolatus), the White-browed Sparrowwren (Fulvetta vinipectus bieti) and the Brown-breasted Rock Wren (Prunella strophiata). Among them, the spear-striped grass stork was included in the "List of Beneficial Terrestrial Wild Animals Protected by the State or of Important Economic and Scientific Research Value" on August 1, 2000, and the white-browed sparrowwren and brown-breasted rock wren were assessed as non-threatened species by the IUCN Red List of Endangered Species.

According to the researchers, when they monitored the record in the field, 19 spear-striped grass storks were foraging in groups at the junction of shrub forest and Huashan pine forest on the edge of Xiaohaizi Village in Dashan Bao Village, Dashan Bao Village, Dashan Town, 1 brown-breasted rock wren stood resting on a rose tree by the side of the ditch and chirping from time to time; and 7 white-browed finches were foraging in the low bushes near Dayadong Village in Hexing Village, Dashan Bao Town.

After consulting the literature such as "Comprehensive Scientific Investigation and Research on the Black-necked Crane Nature Reserve in Dashanbao, Yunnan" (Science Press, August 2013), "Vertebrates of Yunnan Dashanbao Nature Reserve" (2015), "Bird Diversity and Its Relationship with Habitat Structure in Dashanbao Black-necked Crane Nature Reserve in Yunnan Dashanbao" (Journal of Ecology, Vol. 37, No. 1, 2018), and "Preliminary Study on the Diversity of WaterBirds in Winter In Yunnan Dashanbao Black-necked Crane National Nature Reserve" (Wetland Science, Vol. 17, No. 3, 2019), etc., It was confirmed that the three species recorded this time, including spear-striped grass grebe, white-browed sparrowhawk and brown-breasted rock wren, were the newly recorded new species of birds in The Zhaotong Dashanbao Conservation Area.

The successful records of the above three new species have once again refreshed the list of bird resources in the Zhaotong Dashanbao Conservation Area, so that the number of bird species that inhabit and survive here has increased to 195 species, and the preliminary statistics of wild birds are nearly 30,000.
