Ericsson sued Apple, and the iPhone 5G patent license collapsed again

Ericsson has filed a trade complaint with the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) in an attempt to block the import of several Apple products. The lawsuit is the latest result of negotiations between the two sides over the cost of a 5G wireless patent.

In 2015, Ericsson and Apple reached a seven-year telecommunications patent license agreement, and since the previous agreement had expired and the two sides could not agree on the terms and scope of the new license, Ericsson believed that Apple was now using his technology without authorization.

However, Apple also filed a lawsuit against Ericsson, accusing Ericsson of using "tough tactics" to renew the patent and asking the court to help determine a fair renewal price.
