The | the world cherishes the "feathers", but is hurt by the "feathers"

The Road to Shopping Bylig/Works

There is a "material stupidity" in "Laughter in Ancient and Modern Times", which records two stupid animals.

One is the white oriole. "The white bird loves its tail, and its perch will be high." Every day the rain, afraid of staining its tail, does not move. After a long rain, there are many starvation deaths. "The white bird is a precious ornamental bird, with gorgeous feathers and a dumb call, known as "dumb Rui". But it loves its tail too much, and when it rains heavily, it is afraid of dirty tails, lying motionless on the tree, and eventually freezing and starving to death. Beautiful feathers are dirty, and there is still a beautiful possibility, once life is lost, it cannot be revived. Tail feathers and life, which is lighter and heavier, the white bird is confused.

The second is anchovies. "Whoever falls into the net, spares its scales." Anchovy is a valuable fish, the meat is delicious, known as the first of the "Three Fresh Yangtze River". Generally speaking, when fish enter the net, most of them will desperately struggle to break free of the shackles of the net; even if they are caught, they must jump hard to escape the fluke of the cutting board. The anchovies do not jump, and as long as they enter the net, they are motionless. Anchovies cherish their scales too much, so Su Dongpo calls it "Scale Fish". Struggling to jump into the net, although it will drop a few pieces of scale armor, but after all, there is still a possibility of escape, if you lose your life for a few pieces of scale armor, it is not worth it.

From a human point of view, it is stupid and ridiculous that white egrets love their tails and anchovies cherish their scales. However, human beings who laugh at the foolishness of material nature seem to be able to find their own shadow in these two animals.

Some people, like white storks, cherish their "feathers" too much, and as a result, although the "feathers" are beautiful, they have become a burden. Some people are like anchovies, and the scales are not willing to benefit, but they pay a more painful price for life. The stupidity of human nature is to "pity" excessively. Pity, do not give up; if you have pity, you have a fatal weakness. Reluctance and inability to put down should be a common disease of human beings. Some people are like a scorpion, picking up all the way and carrying it all the way; obviously they are overwhelmed, and they still accumulate non-stop, so that they kill themselves - they are crushed by what they are reluctant to put down.

People are often harmed by their own love, love is deep, the pain of loss, the love becomes a person's death pit, white oriole tail, anchovy scales, all the same.
