China Telecom urgently coordinated the submarine cable repair ship to rush to the Tonga submarine cable fault point for emergency repair

The reporter learned from China Telecom International Corporation that the volcanic eruption in Tonga caused damage to the only submarine cable CONNECTING THE SOUTH PACIFIC ISLAND COUNTRY TO THE OUTSIDE, and Tonga's external communications were basically interrupted. China Telecom's international communication services to Tonga have also been affected by the eruption and are currently actively coordinating with local cooperative operators. It is understood that at present, China Telecom has urgently coordinated professional submarine cable repair ships from Papua New Guinea to the Tonga submarine cable fault point for emergency repairs, and maintenance may take several weeks.
