The War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression has always been a history of blood and tears that Chinese cannot be forgotten, and many revolutionary generals died under the butcher's knife of the Japanese, and finally with the concerted efforts of the whole country, after 8 years of arduous resistance, Japan, the initiator of this war of aggression, finally surrendered. And the heroic general who died heroically in this war should be remembered by the world, no matter what his political position was, he is a Chinese hero. The hero we want to talk about today is Wang Jiaben, the commander of the Kuomintang army.
Wang Jiaben was born in a military family, so he had a great expectation of joining the army and serving the country from a young age, and when he grew up, he was admitted to the Yunnan Army Lecture Hall, and his father was a classmate of Zhu De, Fan Shisheng and others, and he was also a brave and fearless soldier.
In the early years, Wang Jiaben served under Gu Pinzhen, because he was very brave in battle, he was soon promoted to company commander, and then he joined his father's friend Fan Shisheng's 16th Army, successively served as a battalion commander and regimental commander in the 47th Division, participated in many struggles against the warlords of evil forces, and made good military achievements in the Northern Expedition.
He then came to Chen Cheng's banner and became one of the young generals that Chen Cheng valued, having studied more advanced military theories at the Nanjing Army School, and after graduation, he served as the deputy commander of the 98th Division of the Kuomintang Army.
Shortly after serving as the deputy division commander, the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression broke out, Wang Jiaben took part in the Battle of Songhu with his troops, and engaged in entanglement and fighting with the enemy on the Shanghai front, as a senior commander, he has always been on the front line and the soldiers to fight with the enemy in blood, such a spirit of not being afraid of death is rare within the Kuomintang, and soon made him famous in the whole army and became a generation of heroes. After the battle, Wang Jiaben was officially promoted to the commander of the 98th Division.
After the Battle of Changsha began, Wang Jiaben performed even better, severely damaging the elite troops of the Japanese army, playing out the style of the Chinese, and was promoted to the commander of the 79th Army, when he was only 40 years old, which was the moment of great spirit. However, such a loyal hero who served the country eventually died.
In 1944, in order to save the previous fiasco, the Japanese army launched the Battle of Yuxianggui. At that time, Wang Jiaben was ordered to lead the 79th Army to block the Japanese attack in the Dong'an area of Hunan.
Wang Jiaben was stationed in a village in Dong'an County with the direct subordinate organs of the military department, and used it as the temporary headquarters of the military department. I don't know if the Japanese army knew the news in advance, but sent thousands of disguised Japanese into the village to launch an attack.
At that time, Wang Jiaben was discussing the battle plan at the military headquarters, the large troops were stationed a little farther away from the village, and there was only one pistol platoon in the military headquarters to defend, in the face of such a crazy attack from the enemy, the defense of the military department was obviously insufficient, the pistol platoon was all killed, and Wang Jiaben also rushed up to fight with the enemy after the bullets ran out. However, even though Wang Jiaben was brave, he was still outnumbered, and his body was full of knife and gunshot wounds, and he was eventually killed in hand-to-hand combat with the enemy.
When the large troops arrived when they received the news, they only saw Wang Jiaben leaning against the edge of the nearby pavilion pillar with his body injured, the whole person standing straight, his eyes glaring, obviously unwilling to die like this, he had not yet seen the day when the Japanese were driven out of China, such a tragic scene made many soldiers shed tears.
After Wang Jiaben's sacrifice, Chiang Kai-shek posthumously honored him as a general in the army in recognition of his merits. Even President Zhu personally sent someone to send a tribute to this heroic soldier who sacrificed his life for the country.
In fact, there are many warriors like Wang Jiaben in that era, the Whampoa Military Academy has trained nearly 200,000 grassroots officers to participate in the anti-Japanese battlefield, only more than 10,000 survivors, the sacrifice rate is as high as 95 percent, it is they who used their lives to build a happy China for us today, these people will always live in our hearts.
