"Zhao Bao Shilang" Wang Yanbin

Wang Yanbin was the eldest son of Wang Zhenyi and the nephew of Wang Zhenzhi. He twice served as the Assassin of Quanzhou, ruled Quanzhou for twenty-six years, and contributed to the economic development of Quanzhou, so he received the elegant title of "ZhaoBao Shilang".

Wang Yanbin's success was that he inherited his father's aspirations internally, "relieved the people of corporals," and encouraged agricultural production; so under his administration, Quanzhou "lived in abundance over the years" and the people's lives were better; externally, he took advantage of quanzhou's existing foreign trade base at that time, "many barbaric", and did a lot of foreign business, and carefully commanded the comings and goings, although "the waves were raging wildly, without making any mistakes", so that he fished a lot of property from them, used funds for public use, and promoted the prosperity of the local economy.

However, like the feudal rulers of previous generations, Wang Yanbin had achievements in Quanzhou, but also had failures. This is his long-term pursuit of enjoyment, eroticism, and extreme luxury after achieving certain success. Under the conditions at that time, he "wore a towel every day, and a sweatshirt every day", which was already too much, and also set up a annex in Yuntai Mountain, Nan'an, taking pleasure in the Qingge feast, forgetting the political affairs, and finally became one of the factors in the collapse of the Wang regime in Fujian.

Wang Yanbin was born in Quanzhou. Since childhood, he has accepted the lavender of the ancient city culture, developed his habit of "reading Buddhism well", and can also write poetry, which can be described as personable and elegant among the rulers. He befriended Xu Yin, Chen Yan, Ni Shu and other Wenling scribes, accompanied him everywhere to enjoy and have fun, and played with poetry and wine. Xu Yin, in the poem "He Qingyuan Taishou Wang Yanbin", bragged about him like this:

In the Ruizhu Palace, who is the immortal,

Eight years of Wenling ten thousand idle.

The heart is moistened in the clouds,

The official is high but too high.

Ginger Tooth Zhao Bear Black Inner,

Tao Kan Wencheng mastered the room.

Should laugh at the old doorman of Qingxi,

Every year, the illness is covered up.

Wang Yanbin in Quanzhou can be regarded as a relatively important historical figure, and his behavior, successes and failures, reflect the social landscape of Quanzhou in that era, and have a reference effect on later generations.
