A few days ago, a property company in Baotou City was reported by the masses for refusing to accept cash, and the Baotou City Center Branch of the People's Bank of China imposed an administrative penalty on the property company and relevant responsible persons in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations on the refusal to accept cash.

According to reports, Mr. Yan, a citizen, used cash to pay the parking space management fee to the property service company in the community, and the charging personnel and relevant responsible persons of the property company said that they would not collect cash, and could only use bank cards or WeChat and Alipay to pay. After receiving the clue, the staff of the Baotou City Center Branch of the People's Bank of China conducted on-site investigation and verified that the property company's illegal act of refusing to accept cash was true, and the staff put forward a request for rectification within a time limit for the property company on the spot, publicized the laws and regulations to it, and told it to put an end to cash refusal in the future.

In recent years, with the popularity of electronic payment methods, non-cash payment in all fields of society has accounted for a large proportion, almost all trading venues have provided WeChat, Alipay, bank cards and other charging methods, administrative undertakings, public services and other unit payment windows have also launched such payment channels, the use of these payment tools is convenient and fast, bringing people a new consumer experience. However, at the same time, some market entities ignore the importance of cash payments and refuse to accept cash in a discriminatory and exclusionary manner, which damages the legal status of the RMB, damages the payment choice of cash users, and hinders cash circulation.
