The taste of cherries

The cherries were red again.

Especially like the small size of the cherries and the cherries of the berries. Every year, I would run around under the cherry tree and eat the cherries I had picked. When I was a child, I read a fairy tale that said that cherry trees were a king by themselves, and he made his children princes, ministers and subjects according to their appearance and character. The largest and fullest cherry is the cherry prince, who must have grown up at the highest place and received the fullest light. When picking cherries, I always look for the "cherry prince" all over the tree, and I hope that the basket I pick is all "cherry prince". This rejuvenating feeling is fun.

The entanglement of cherry blossoms and cherries also confused me for a while. When I was a child, I thought that the cherry blossom tree was the mother of cherry, and one year in April, I went to the park almost every day to see what happened to the cherry blossom child cherry after the cherry blossom fell. The red color of the ground after the cherry blossoms fell is too much like a poem. Later I didn't see the results, and I also knew: cherry blossoms and cherries are two species.

Cherry also saved people.

When the cherries are ripe, I always think of an Iranian movie called "The Taste of Cherries." It tells the story of a middle-aged man, Barty, driving a Land Rover and trying to find a suitable person to help him commit suicide on a remote country road. He deliberately found several people to help him—all of them people who needed to save money. His appeal was this: he dug a pit under a tree, and he wanted to eat all the sleeping pills that night, and then lay down in the pit, and the man who helped him came here at dawn the next day, filled the pit with a shovel, and buried him. Of course, Barty would pay his men handsomely. However, no one was willing to help him, no one was willing to help him, no one was willing to do it. One person said he was just a collector of plastic bottles and didn't know what to do about it. One person said, you keep this money, I want to go back, because you can't put soil on others... It wasn't until later that the middle-aged man who wanted to die met an old man.

The old man told a story of his own. When the old man first got married, he had a mess of his life and wanted to die. He bought a rope to tie himself. He passed an orchard and threw the rope against a tree, throwing it several times without hanging it. The old man had to climb up to the tree and tie the rope to a strong branch. At this time, he came across a ripe mulberry fruit, and he thought that this was the last time he had eaten the fruit in his life, so he ate it. Only then did he know that it was the mulberry tree, the mulberry berries were soft and sweet, and the fruits of the world were so delicious. Not long after, a group of children from school came down from the tree, and when the children saw him in the tree, they asked him to shake the mulberry fruit down. He did. The children laughed as they ate, and some of them took some with them and said they would take them home and eat them. At this time, he wanted to commit suicide, and like those children, he also took some berries home and gave them to his wife. These fruits saved him. He suddenly became different from his past self, did not want to die, and has lived until now.

The old man told another story to Barty, who wanted to die. A man went to the doctor and said that wherever his fingers were pressed, it hurt, pressed to the stomach, the stomach hurt, pressed to the shoulder, the shoulder hurt, pressed to the heart, the heart hurt. The patient thinks he must be terminally ill. The doctor told the patient that his finger was broken and that everywhere else was healthy.

The old man told Barty that maybe if he looked at the world from a different perspective, life would make sense. The film doesn't tell viewers a definite ending at the end, but the tone of the whole film changes, and the previous earthy yellow tone suddenly turns green, which is the changed color in Barty's eyes. At the end of the film, there is no mention of the taste of cherries, except that Barty has a marked tree next to the pit he has dug up in advance, which is a cherry tree.

A movie that does not talk about cherries, the title of which is "The Taste of Cherries", makes cherries more eye-catching. Why cherries? Maybe it's because the cherry tastes great. Maybe it's because cherries are divine? Of course, if we change our perspective on the world and life, we will discover the divinity of all things. If we look up and see the clouds, the call of the water turns the clouds into rain, the longing of the land dries the water into the soil, the soil makes the seeds of a cherry tree sprout, and the sunlight allows the cherry tree to shine and grow strongly. A cherry tree is poured upon us by the world, a gift from nature, and a firework put together and opened up to us in good faith.
