On January 18, the Chinese Academy of Information and Communications Technology released the december 2021 domestic mobile phone market operation analysis report, in December 2021, the domestic market mobile phone shipments of 33.401 million units, an increase of 25.6% year-on-year, of which 5G mobile phones 27.145 million units, an increase of 49.2% year-on-year, accounting for 81.3% of mobile phone shipments in the same period.
In the whole year of 2021, the overall shipment of mobile phones in the domestic market totaled 351 million units, an increase of 13.9% year-on-year, of which 5G mobile phone shipments were 266 million units, an increase of 63.5% year-on-year, accounting for 75.9% of mobile phone shipments in the same period.
In December 2021, 56 new models of domestic mobile phones were listed, an increase of 14.3% year-on-year, of which 24 were 5G mobile phones, down 7.7% year-on-year, accounting for 42.9% of the number of new models listed on mobile phones in the same period.
In the whole year of 2021, a total of 483 new models were listed, an increase of 4.3% year-on-year, of which 227 were 5G mobile phones, an increase of 0.9% year-on-year, accounting for 47.0% of the number of new models listed in mobile phones in the same period.
