"It's hard for my friends to imagine that I could sing Chinese opera even when I didn't even say Chinese." At Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics, hibiscus, an international student from Zambia, not only continued his musical dream, but also learned Chinese Yue opera.

She attributes this to her Yue opera teacher, Wu Dan, a teacher at the School of Humanities and Communication at Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics. As a famous teacher of intangible cultural heritage communication at Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics (hereinafter referred to as "Zhejiang University of Finance"), Wudan has been teaching international students for more than ten years. During her time in college, she spread Chinese opera culture among international students as a student sister.

After coming to Zhejiang University of Finance and Finance to teach, she taught international students Guzheng performance, Kunqu opera, Yue opera and so on at the International College. A few days ago, the work "I Met TA in China - My Chinese "Immortal Sister"" about the Journey of Wu Dan and Hibiscus won the International Cooperation Award in the Second "Beautiful Zhejiang" International Short Video Competition.

In the face of zero-based international students, the language barrier is a major problem that Needan needs to overcome. To this end, in the Guzheng class, she adapted the classic Guzheng repertoire into simple fingerings, and transformed complex technical terms into easy-to-understand body language, from pressing the strings to playing the music, teaching it by hand.

Wu Dan said that this method not only solves the problem of language barrier, but also accelerates the understanding of international students. But also because of this way of teaching, before each lesson, It takes more than half a day to prepare.

While Wu Dan taught his knowledge of opera to international students, international students also felt the charm of Chinese opera in the process of learning tone, walking on stage and performing opera.

"Whether it's a charismatic opera or a warm teacher, I feel extremely lucky." Hibiscus said that as a foreigner, I came to China to feel the cultural atmosphere here and contact the culture with Chinese characteristics. In this way, Teacher Wu Dan has narrowed the distance between his chinese culture.

In addition to teaching international students, Wu Dan also offers courses such as "Appreciation of Ancient Opera", "Communication and Writing", "Study of Chinese and Foreign Literary Classics", and "Special Topics in Ancient Opera" for Chinese students.

"The traditional learning of opera culture is either based on book knowledge or performance. I hope to combine the two and bring it to the college classroom. Wu Dan said.

Among the professors of Wudan, zhejiang university students not only absorbed the knowledge of opera in the collision of ideas, but also painted stage makeup, put on water sleeves, experienced the charm of traditional Chinese culture at zero distance, and added youthful vitality to opera.

"I want to make some contributions to the inheritance of Chinese culture in the way I am good at." In the past ten years, she has met many students who love opera as much as she does. In the future, she will continue to move forward to make the sound of Chinese opera move to a broader international stage. (End)
