According to the World Curling Federation, on January 18, local time, during the 2022 Curling World Championships qualification tournament held in Loha, Finland, 3 people in the participating teams tested positive for nucleic acid.

The positive result came from the Czech women's team and another person.

The 2022 Curling World Championships Qualifiers adopted a "safety bubble" epidemic prevention policy, with all participants undergoing nucleic acid tests upon arrival in Loja and waiting for test results in isolation rooms.

Except for one person, the rest of the Czech team are considered close contacts, and they will be quarantined according to the local epidemic prevention policy before returning home.

According to the rules of the competition, after someone in the team is diagnosed positive, the lineup can be changed, but the Czech team chooses to withdraw from the game.

Czech team coordinator Eleonora Vydrova said: "After consideration, the Czech Curling Association decided not to send substitute teams to the World Championships qualifiers."

The 2022 Curling World Championship Qualification Tournament, held in Loha, Finland, from January 18 to January 22, will feature seven men's and seven women's teams, two men's and two teams each will be selected to participate in the 2022 Curling World Championships, among which the Danish women's team and the Russian men's team will participate in the Beijing Winter Olympics.
